Mark Hughes believes Queens Park Rangers’ signing of Park Ji-Sung signalled “a statement of intent” from the Hoops.
The 31-year-old penned a two-year contract after joining the London outfit from Manchester United for an undisclosed fee in July.
“He’s integrated very, very well as you would expect,” said Hughes. “He’s an outstanding playing. He’s got real presence in the group as well. He’s got great experience as well.
“The players who haven’t played at his level will benefit from seeing how he operates as a person and as a player.
“We’re delighted that he’s here. I think it was a real statement of intent when we were able to bring Park to QPR and since he’s walked through the door, he’s been a positive influence on the group.
“Now we fully expect him to have a great season because, as I said, he’s got the right quality and technical ability.”
Hughes also revealed he plans to maximise Park’s versatility in his starting line-up, with the QPR boss hoping to use the South Korean star in various midfield roles over the course of the campaign.
“He’s like many of the players in the sense he’s got the ability to play in a number of different positions which I like,” he added.
“There may be some weeks where I need him in certain positions, maybe out wide or off the front striker, or a capacity to play in a deeper role in central midfield.
“I’ve got great options in how I can use him. That was one of the main attractions of bringing him to the club because he gives me that versatility.”
