Sasa Kalajdzic joined Wolves amid high expectations but has struggled with injuries since his arrival.

Despite Wolves enduring a winless pre-season, the striker has stood out, seizing the opportunity to impress and putting himself in contention for inclusion in the squad for the opening game against Manchester City.

After showing glimpses of his talent in pre-season, he’s aiming for a stronger, injury-free campaign this year.

Fans have been praising his goal against Santa Clara on social media, signalling growing excitement around his Wolves future.

Linked with a loan move away earlier in the summer, Kalajdzic’s situation at Wolves may now have shifted following his encouraging pre-season form.

Sasa Kalajdzic’s time at Wolves has been heavily disrupted by injury setbacks.

The towering Austrian striker suffered a serious ACL injury on his debut at Molineux in September 2022, ruling him out for the remainder of the season and stalling his progress just as he arrived in the Premier League.

Subsequent setbacks and fitness issues further limited his involvement, meaning his career in the West Midlands has never truly gathered momentum.

His brightest moment in gold came under Gary O’Neil, when he scored the decisive goal in a 2-1 away win at Bournemouth, offering a glimpse of the impact he can have when fit.

The striker recently took to Instagram with a message that suggests a possible U-turn on his future.

He said: “Pre-season (crossed out) feeling 10/10 – let’s get the season started @wolves.”

As reported by the Express & Star, the 28-year-old previously hinted during an interview earlier this May that he might leave the club on loan, as he continues to build up his fitness after a lengthy period on the sidelines.

However, his recent post hinted that he now appears happy to remain at the club and fight for his place, a stance that will go down well with Wolves supporters.

What Kalajdzic could offer Wolves this season

If Sasa Kalajdzic can stay fit, he has the potential to be a valuable weapon for Wolves this season.

Standing at six feet and seven inches tall, his aerial presence gives manager Vitor Pereira a different attacking option, particularly against stubborn, defensive sides.

He could also make a big impact off the bench, offering fresh energy and a physical threat late in games.

Kalajdzic’s career tally of 55 goals in 152 games is a solid return and shows he knows how to find the net.

In Pereira’s system, which favours a focal point to bring others into play, the Austrian could be a key figure when called upon.
