Jonjo Shelvey has thanked Liverpool’s “first-rate” supporters after the midfielder completed a £5m move to Swansea City.
The 21-year-old has penned a four-year deal with the League Cup winners after calling time on a three-year spell with the 18-time English champions.
Shelvey struggled to force his way into Brendan Rodgers’ side last season despite initially impressing in the Premier League and Europa League at the start of the campaign.
And the England Under-21 international thanked the Reds fans for their supporter after deciding to seek a new challenge at Swansea.
Shelvey scored seven goals in 69 appearances for Liverpool after completing a £1.7m move to the Reds from Charlton Athletic in 2010.
His transfer fee could rise with potential add-ons in the deal, and he is Swansea’s fifth signing of the summer – Jordi Amat, Jose Canas, Alejandro Pozuelo and Jonathan de Guzman have moved to the Welsh outfit.
