Tottenham Hotspur will be looking to get back to winning ways when they take on West Ham United in the Premier League on Saturday.

The London derby is a crucial match for both sides, and Tottenham manager Thomas Frank is facing some big selection decisions after a number of players returned to fitness over the international break.

With a number of new signings also in contention, it could be a completely different-looking Tottenham side that takes to the pitch at the London Stadium.

Here, we highlight three Spurs players who could make their first starts of the season at the London Stadium, as Frank aims to inject new life into his team to secure a vital three points.

Xavi Simons

Xavi Simons is a strong candidate to make his first start for Tottenham.

The 22-year-old Dutch international, who joined the club in a record-breaking deal from RB Leipzig, has had a full pre-season so should be up to speed fitness-wise.

The attacking midfielder, who can play both on the left wing and as a number 10, will give the team a new dimension in attack.

Randal Kolo Muani

Randal Kolo Muani is also a strong candidate to make his debut for Tottenham.

The 26-year-old, who joined the club on a loan deal from Paris Saint-Germain, has had a limited pre-season, but his versatility and experience in the Champions League make him a valuable asset.

The forward is a great option in the final third, and Frank may be tempted to throw him in from the start.

After Spurs struggled to find the net last time out against Bournemouth, Kolo Muani could be exactly what Frank needs.

Destiny Udogie

Destiny Udogie will be hoping to start from the first whistle against West Ham.

The Italian, who missed the end of last season with a knee injury, has returned to fitness and has been training with the first team.

Udogie’s potential return is particularly noteworthy given his strong relationship with former manager Ange Postecoglou.

Per The London Evening Standard, the Australian had previously called Udogie an “outstanding” and “unique” player, using him as his first choice left-back during his tenure at North London.

With the London derby set to be a tough test, Frank will be keen to have all his attacking options available.

Why these changes are needed by Tottenham for West Ham clash

The potential changes to the Tottenham lineup are a direct result of the team’s poor performance in their last league game against Bournemouth.

The defeat, which denied them a third straight victory, has led to a number of questions about the team’s balance and creativity.

The introduction of new players like Simons and Kolo Muani would provide a much-needed boost to the attack and would give the team a new dimension.

The return of Udogie would also be a major boost for the team, as the Italian international is a key part of Frank’s system.

With his ability to contribute in both defence and attack, he would provide the team with a much-needed balance.
