What Andre Onana is now doing after Trabzonspor agree loan transfer with Man United

Andre Onana’s time at Manchester United has been tough, with countless struggles in goal.

The Cameroonian shot-stopper has struggled with form, making some high-profile errors, adding to the difficulties the team have already faced on the pitch.

Onana was signed in 2023 as the successor to David de Gea, who called time on his long spell at Old Trafford.

The £55 million signing from Ajax was viewed as the perfect option to join then-manager Erik ten Hag as someone who could play with the ball at his feet.

However, after two years, an exit could already be on the cards.

Manchester United’s signing of Senne Lammens from Royal Antwerp has plunged Onana’s future at the club into doubt, as an offer has arrived for him to leave.

Andre Onana now deciding on Trabzonspor transfer after Man United agreement

It was recently revealed by Fabrizio Romano that Trabzonspor had reached a verbal agreement with Manchester United to sign Onana on a season-long loan this summer

While a club-to-club agreement is now in place, the final decision lies with Onana, as Sky Sports adds that he is now waiting to decide on his future.

As it stands, Amorim has largely favoured Altay Bayandir in goal this season, while the arrival of Lammens may only sink Onana further down the pecking order.

Whether there is a way back into the team is unclear, but all the hints seem to suggest that the goalkeeper isn’t viewed as having a future at the club.

Whether that means he will accept an offer is currently unclear, though.

How long has Andre Onana got to make his Man United transfer decision

It remains to be seen if Onana will embark on this new journey in the Turkish league, but his time at Old Trafford appears beyond repair.

The Turkish transfer window is open until September 12, but with Onana on international duty with Cameroon, it doesn’t leave much room to complete a deal.

A match against Cape Verde awaits his national team, where there will be some hope that he can return to form between the sticks.

That is on September 9th, leaving just a few days after to potentially get a deal done before the Turkish window closes.

It’s a tight turnaround, but there is some time for the goalkeeper to consider his options.
