Tommy Fleetwood fell agonisingly short of his first PGA win at the Travelers Championship, losing on the 18th hole to Keegan Bradley.
The Brit saw his one-shot lead going into the 18th disappear, making bogey on the final hole as American Bradley took the win with a birdie.
Fleetwood holds the unwanted record of having the most top-10 finishes without a win since 1983, with 42.

He looked near-certain to leap that hurdle at the Travelers, and his agony was clear for all to see as Bradley sank the tournament-winning putt.
Fleetwood could not watch Bradley’s winning putt
Despite a wayward approach shot leaving Fleetwood off the green, he left himself with a makeable putt for par, which would have ultimately sent him into a playoff with Bradley.
Unfortunately for Fleetwood, his putt missed right, and Bradley sank his attempt from a similar position to win.
In a newly emerged video, Fleetwood was unable to watch the final moments of the tournament, and only found out the result from the reaction of Bradley’s home crowd.
It’s a tough watch. Fleetwood carried a three-shot lead into the final day of the Travelers, but finished bogey, par, bogey to finish his round on Sunday.
With the likes of world number one Scottie Scheffler and 2025 Masters Champion Rory McIlroy out of contention, he looked good for the win, but it was not to be on the day.
Fleetwood still confident of claiming maiden PGA Tour win
“When it happens, it will be very, very sweet,” said Fleetwood in his post-round press conference, when asked about the pursuit of his first win in America.
“In my mind, I’ve won loads of PGA Tour events, I just haven’t done it in reality, and I’m sure that time will come if I keep working.”
He has everything but a win on his resume so far, so his confidence of eventually topping a leaderboard is well-founded.
He has six second-place finishes on the Tour, and two at major championships, most recently the 2019 Open Championship.
Even grand slam winner McIlroy said Fleetwood would win on the PGA Tour in 2019, a testament to the Merseyside golfer’s evident talent.
Last season, Fleetwood achieved a career-best finish at the Masters, coming in third. He has four top ten finishes this season, and three finishes in the top five.
If Fleetwood continues to knock on the door, eventually it will open.
