Scottie Scheffler uses this $50 tool during every golf round he plays.

The world number one, Scheffler, is playing one of the greatest golfing seasons of all time. He has won two major championships, The PGA Championship and The Open Championship, bringing him one major away from the career slam.

Scheffler entered the St. Jude Championship as the leader in the FedEx Cup standings. At St. Jude, he revealed the $50 tool he has that he uses every round.

Scottie Scheffler uses the same tools every round

Scheffler, who finished his opening round of the St. Jude with a solid 67, admitted he is a little superstitious when playing. He uses the same ball marker and divot repair tool every round he plays.

He said he bought the divot tool for $50 at an iconic golf club. He explained, “It’s from Cypress Point. I don’t use it because it’s from Cypress Point, it’s just the right size and it’s metal. They don’t really make those kinds of divot tools any more so I’ve just kind of stuck with it.

“I bought it in the shop. I bought one last year and I lost it at some point. I literally could not find another divot tool like that, so I went on eBay, found another Cypress Point divot tool, paid like 50 bucks for it.

“I went back this year. They’re a little cheaper on site so I got a couple extra.”

Scheffler is having a Tiger-like season. He can’t stop winning, so if it’s not broke, don’t fix it!

Scottie Scheffler ‘close’ to a great round at the St. Jude Championship

Scheffler’s 67 put him three under through the opening round of the St. Jude Championship, five back from the lead. The FedEx Cup’s leader through the regular season, who earned $18 million for topping the standings, is in a solid spot for the rest of the weekend.

He had four birdies on the day, and was a hole away from a clean scorecard before a bogey on the 18th. Scheffler admitted it was a solid round, but not a great one.

He said after the day’s play, “Today was a good day. I did some solid stuff. It felt like I was close to playing a really great round but ended up with a solid round, so overall a decent start.”

Scheffler will be looking for great the rest of the month. The American has already qualified for the upcoming Ryder Cup in New York, and he’ll be out for revenge after Team USA were embarrassed by Europe in 2023.

USA will need Scheffler on top form as the world’s best golfer, and he’ll look to maintain his elite form going into late September.
