UPDATE (August 2017): This product appears to have been discontinued. Click the link below to see our most up to date list of the best supplements on sale at the moment.
In this review post, we’re going to take a close look at the BSN Clean supplement by comparing the various ingredients, checking out some customer reviews, and seeing where it stands in relation to some other similar products out there at the moment.
BSN Clean fits into the general category of health and fitness supplements known as so-called ‘fat burners’.
These are products which are designed to help support you as you aim to achieve your goals.
This product doesn’t make any ridiculous claims, instead simply promising to help with supporting you as you look to hit your goals.
It contains a number of ingredients which are designed to help support you on your journey as you take responsibility for your body.
There are some good ingredients in BSN Clean, but there are also some important things missing in our opinion.
Although we were pleased to find some of our favorite substances in this product, we were disappointed to see some key ingredients missed out. But more on that later.
• Caffeine Anhydrous – This is one of the most popular ingredients in supplements of this type. Caffeine is a very popular stimulant and coffee drinkers will need no introduction to it at all. It’s usually included in the top supplements in this category, so it was good to see it in BSN Clean.
• Green Coffee Bean Extract – This is another great ingredient which we were happy to find in BSN Clean. In their natural and unroasted state, Coffee Beans are extremely rich in Chlorogenic Acid. It was good to see Green Coffee Bean included in this supplement because we found that a lot of the top products don’t include it, which is a shame.
• Cayenne Extract – This is another top ingredient and one we were very pleased to see included. We consider Cayenne to be one of the leading ingredients for a supplement of this type. You’ll find it in most of the top supplements in this category. It was great to find it on the label and we found that most of the top products on sale these days contain Cayenne in some form or another.
• Yerba Mate Extract – We’re not totally convinced about the inclusion of this ingredient in BSN Clean. Although there have been some studies into Yerba Mate, we’d suggest that there isn’t enough evidence to consider it to be a truly top ingredient.
There are a few other ingredients in BSN clean and they are listed in the graphic below. We’re not too sure about their proven benefits though.
There are a few things missing from this supplement which prevent us from considering it as one of the very best ones out there.
Firstly, we were disappointed not to see Glucomannan included in some form. This is a powerful dietary fiber which comes from the root of the Konjac plant. Most of the best supplements contain Glucomannan in some form or another.
Also, we were disappointed not to see Green Tea Extract included. We really consider this to be one of the top ingredients and we were quite surprised not to see it on the label.
You’ll usually find Green Tea on the label of most of the supplements in this category.
There were also a few of our other favorite ingredients missing from the label, including Zinc, Chromium and B Vitamins.
You should always read up on each of the individual ingredients to check for side effects and make sure you’re not allergic to any of the ingredients.
The main thing to bear in mind with this particular product is that it contains quite a lot of caffeine, meaning that you probably shouldn’t take it too close to bedtime.
Too much caffeine can cause insomnia and other problems in some people, so it’s best to regulate your total caffeine intake before considering a product like this one.
We also always recommend speaking to your doctor before thinking about taking any new supplement for the first time.
Each bottle of BSN Clean contains 90 capsules. That means that if you stick to the recommended dose, one bottle will last you for 30 days.
The label gives very clear instructions – to take one capsule three times per day.
As we mentioned above, because the caffeine content of this supplement is pretty high, we’d recommend not taking it too close to bedtime, to minimise the chance of it affecting your sleep.
We found a few customer reviews of BSN Clean online, although not as many as other supplements we’ve reviewed.
One customer said that they were fans of BSN’s overall product line and that it worked for them.
Another said that it worked well for them when combined with one of BSN’s whey protein supplements.
Not in our opinion. Although it does tick a few boxes when it comes to the most common ingredients, there are too many things missing from the label for us to really consider it as a top product.
We recently selected the best supplements on sale at the moment by comparing all of the ingredients and checking out some of the customer reviews. Click the link below to see our definitive list.
We always like to remind you, that there is no ‘magic pill’ when it comes to getting into shape.
You’re going to have to put in the hard work when it comes to exercise and make sure you’re eating right.
That being said, if you feel like your diet and exercise plan are already on point, a good quality supplement can help to support you on your journey.
So, is BSN Clean a good supplement which you should consider taking? Here are our overall thoughts in the shell of a nut:
– Reputable brand
– Decent core ingredients
– Seems to be have been discontinued
– No Green Tea or Glucomannan
– Not enough customer reviews online
We hope that you enjoyed reading out review of BSN Clean. We think this is a decent product but there are too many things missing, meaning that we don’t classify it as one of the top products out there at the moment.
