Our rating: ★★☆☆☆

We seem to be losing count of the number of supplements Cellucor have released under their ‘SuperHD’ brand. SuperHD Water was the latest product to come across our desk, so we were keen to take a close look at it.

This is an interesting product because it’s been specifically designed to help your body get rid of excess water stored in your body.

Of course, this will help you lose weight and look a little bit leaner, but it probably won’t be a long-term gain if you’re not actually burning fat.

Cellucor is one of the biggest names in the industry and we’re always keen to hear about their latest supplements, so let’s take a detailed look at SuperHD Water.

What does SuperHD Water do?

The website says that it’s been specifically formulated to help you lose water weight with a “clinically proven drying formula”.

SuperHD Water is claimed to help you “pull” the water out from underneath your skin to help you achieve that lean, toned physique.

The problem here, of course, is that the results are only likely to be temporary – as you as you stop taking the product, your body will likely start to store water in the same way again.

It seems a bit strange to us that they recommend on the label to use the product eight weeks for the best results.

SuperHD Water also contains some ingredients to help with thermogenic fat burning and to encourage your body to burn more fat naturally.

What you need to know about the ingredients

Let’s start by taking a close look at the actual ingredients label.

SuperHD Water ingredients

The first thing we noticed here is that SuperHD Water uses something called a proprietary blend. This is when a manufacturer puts ingredients within an overall ‘blend’.

This isn’t good, because it means that we don’t know the individual doses of the ingredients, making it difficult to judge effectiveness.

Here are the main good ingredients in SuperHD Water.

• Horsetail – Now before you ask us, this is not anything to do with horses or their tails. It’s a plant which Cellucor say that they’ve included to control fluid retention in the body. They claim that it will increase urinary output and therefore encourage your body to get rid of excess water.

We’re going to level with you – we had not heard of this supplement ingredient before, so we had to do some of our own research into it, but we did not find out too much about it.

• Green Tea Extract – You’ve no doubt already heard of this ingredient and seen it in plenty of supplements before.

It’s a powerful thermogenic which can help get your body burning more fat naturally. As well as also being loaded with antioxidants, it also is a natural source of caffeine, meaning it can bring about a small energy boost too.

• Juniper Berry Extract – This isn’t an ingredient we’ve come across too often in the fat burners we’ve tried.

Cellucor say that they’ve included it in SuperHD fire before it is able to pull water out of the body thanks to its natural diuretic properties.

• Crataegus Pinnatifida Berry Extract – Another ingredient that contains antioxidants. It’s been included because it can “improve blood flow and cardiac functioning”.

This sounds great, but it doesn’t strike us as a particularly useful ingredient for a fat burner.

What’s missing?

There are certainly some interesting ingredients in SuperHD Water.

This product contains some good stuff, but in our opinion it’s lacking too many proven fat burner ingredients.

Firstly, there was no Cayenne Pepper to help get your metabolism firing. We love this ingredient because not only is it a powerful thermogenic, but it also helps to suppress appetite too.

It was also a shame that there was no Glucomannan on the label. This is a powerful dietary fiber which swells in your stomach to help keep you feeling fuller for longer.

Are there any side effects?

Usually the main red flag when it comes to fat burners is the over-use of stimulants. SuperHD Water doesn’t use any, so that’s not a problem.

The one thing to be wary of is Juniper Berries. They can be potentially harmful to pregnant women.

There’s a warning about this on the label, so we’d definitely recommend steering clear if you are pregnant, breastfeeding or trying for a baby.

How to take SuperHD Water

Each bottle of SuperHD Water contains 42 capsules. That’s a two-week supply if you stick to the recommended dose.

The directions say that you should take one morning (red) capsule with some water in the early to middle of the morning.

You should then take the afternoon (orange) capsule between four and six hours later.

There is a warning saying not to take this product within six hours of bedtime, presumably because of the Caffeine in the Green Tea Extract.

What are customers saying?

Because this is quite a new product, there were not very many reviews of it online at the time of writing this article.

On the official website, there were three five-star reviews, but it’s not clear whether Cellucor censor their reviews or not.

One customer said that they were pleased with the results and they plan on using it in the future.

Someone else who left an 8/10 review on bodybuilding.com said that he wasn’t sure whether this was the product for him or not.

Is this the best fat burner?

Not in our opinion. While SuperHD Water might be good if you’re looking to lose water weight, it doesn’t have enough natural thermogenic ingredients for our liking.

It also missed a trick by not including a natural appetite suppressant such as Glucomannan.

Anything else to consider?

We always like to remind our readers that there is no such thing as a miracle supplement when it comes to achieving your body goals.

You should always make sure that you’re training hard and eating right before trying to shed extra fat by using a supplement.

That being said, if you’re already training hard and eating right, using a quality fat burner supplement can definitely help you shed those stubborn areas of fat.

Review conclusion – our final thoughts

That wraps up our review of SuperHD Water by Cellucor.

This may be a good product if you’re looking to temporarily reduce water retention in your body, but it’s probably not going to do much actually help you burn more fat.

We would prefer to use a fat burner supplement with a number of thermogenic and energy boosting ingredients to help you get rid of those areas of fat you’ve been working to shift for ages.
