Hydroxycut is one of the more popular supplement ranges out there, so we were excited to take a close look at the new product in the line.
This particular supplement promises to deliver the “strongest sensory experience” while also bringing “extreme energy and enhanced focus”.
Of course, it’s also designed to help support you on your journey as you look to take responsibility for your results.
So, is this supplement all it’s cracked up to be, and more importantly, is it one you should consider taking? Let’s find out.
You’re probably already familiar with the so-called ‘fat burner’ supplement category.
And Hydroxycut Elite Sport fits under that particular label.
What sets it apart from the other Hydroxycut products is that it’s been designed to provide some extra things than other supplements.
Indeed, the website says that it’s been formulated to “unleash explosive energy” to help you perform at your best, whether that’s in the gym or while playing your favorite sport.
It’s also been designed to help support you on your journey.
There’s a link to a study on the official website where there are various claims made about one of the ingredients in this supplement.
So, does this product live up to the marketing hype? Let’s take a close look at the ingredients to find out.
Let’s start by taking a look at the full ingredients label on the bottle of Hydroxycut Elite Sport.
The first thing we noted is that the manufacturer has not used a proprietary blend, meaning that all of the ingredients are clearly listed with their individual doses.
This is a plus point, because many supplements use blends to hide the individual ingredient doses.
Here are the top ingredients in Hydroxycut Hardcore Elite Sport:
• Caffeine Anhydrous – This is one of our favorite ingredients, so it’s great to see it included. We should say that 225mg of Caffeine per serving is quite a lot and may be too much for some people.
• L-Theanine – This is an amino acid extracted from tea leaves. We’re used to seeing this in the leading pre workout supplements. It’s often paired with Caffeine in the same supplement, which is the case here.
• C. Canephora Robusta extract – This is the main ingredient that the marketing makes a fuss about in this product. According to the website, people who supplemented with C. Canephora Robusta experienced some benefits. It’s another name for Green Coffee Bean extract, which is a good ingredient.
• Ophiopogon extract – A bit of a mouthful to say, this is a root native to south-east Asia. There are various claims about it written online, but in our opinion not enough research has been done on this ingredient.
• Yohimbe Extract – This is another one of those ingredients that we see quite often in supplements like this but we’re not huge fans of it. Yohimbe Extract has been linked with certain benefits, but it is certainly not one of our top recommended ingredients for a supplement.
Hydroxycut Hardcore Elite Sport contains some decent stuff but there are also quite a lot of our favorite ingredients missing from this product.
Firstly, it was very disappointing not to find any Cayenne Pepper on the label. This is one of our top ingredients for supplement in this category, and you’ll find it in most of the top products on the market.
It was also a shame not to find the popular ingredient Green Tea extract in this supplement.
Also missing was Glucomannan, a dietary fiber which comes from the root of the Konjac plant.

Modern supplements are usually pretty safe because they tend to include only natural and commonly used ingredients.
However, we always say that you should carefully check the label and do your own research into the ingredients before trying a product for the first time.
You should keep an eye on stimulant content. As mentioned above, each two-capsule serving of Hydroxycut Hardcore Elite Sport contains more than 200mg of Caffeine, which could cause side effects such as the jitters or energy crashes in some people.
As we also mentioned above, Yohimbe Extract has been known to cause some problems. It’s worth keeping an eye on that one.
We always recommend speaking to your doctor before thinking about trying any new supplement for the first time.
Each bottle of Hydroxycut Hardcore Elite Sport contains 70 capsules. That means one bottle will last you for around 18 days if you take the recommended maximum dose of four per day.
The directions say that you should take one capsules twice a day to begin with, before ramping up the dose to two capsules, twice a day after the third day of taking the supplement.
We much prefer supplements which have consistent doses. It’s better, generally speaking, to use a product that will be consistently supplying your body with the ingredients.
As we touched upon earlier, we wouldn’t recommend taking this supplement too close to bedtime because of the significant Caffeine content.
Despite it being a relatively new product, we still found plenty of reviews of Hydroxycut Hardcore Elite Sport on Amazon.
One customer called it “another great Hydroxycut product” and said the capsules were very potent indeed.
Someone else said it was perfect for them and boosting energy.
However, there were also some negative reviews.
Someone said that they had been using the product for four to five weeks and had not noticed any difference at all.
Another user complained that it made them feel dizzy and nauseous.
Not in our opinion. Although Hydroxycut Hardcore Elite Sport does contain a few good things and comes from a reputable brand, there are too many of our favorite ingredients omitted from this product.

Whenever we talk about health and fitness supplements, we always like to remind our readers that you shouldn’t expect miracles from any product in this category, no matter how strong the marketing is.
The simple fact of the matter is that you should always concentrate on getting your diet and training regime on point before considering taking a new supplement for the first time.
That being said, when you’re training hard, eating right, and getting plenty of rest, a quality supplement can help to support you on your journey.
That concludes our review of Hydroxycut Hardcore Elite Sport by MuscleTech.
Overall, we think this is a decent product but it’s let down because it doesn’t use some of our favorite ingredients.
