The problem is, because there are so many different products out there at the moment it can be difficult to select the right one for you.
Choosing the right fat burner becomes even more complicated when the same brand has multiple offerings which seem similar on the face of it.
The purpose of this comparison article is to completely break down both Hydroxycut Hardcore Elite and Hydroxycut Hardcore Next Gen so you’ll be able to know everything about both products.
We’re going to take a close look at the all important aspects of these products so you can make the most informed choice.
So, without any further ado, let’s get down to business and start comparing Elite to Next Gen.
Hydroxycut Hardcore Elite:
• Made by MuscleTech
• Promotes thermogenic fat burning
• Increases energy levels
• Promotes weight loss
Hydroxycut Hardcore Next Gen:
• Made by MuscleTech
• Promotes weight loss
• Increases energy levels
• Enhances mental focus
On first inspection, both of these products look pretty similar, especially given that they are made by the same company and are part of the same brand.
However, there are a few subtle differences. We’ll get into the details about the specific ingredients later on, but let’s first focus on the claims the manufacturer makes about these products.
Hardcore Elite Next Gen is described on its label as being a “Next Generation Weight Loss and Extreme Sensory”.
Hardcore Elite, meanwhile, is described as a “super thermogenic” to help you lose weight and give extreme energy.
We’ve never liked the term ‘weight loss’ because it’s too general for us.
If you’re looking to get ripped and lean, you’re going to want to be losing FAT, not overall weight.
You want to keep your lean muscle mass and don’t want to trick the scales by simply dehydrating yourself.
Anyway, so far, these products look to be pretty similar. Let’s take a look at the next comparison category.
The serving frequency of a supplement is often a good clue as to how effective it’s going to be.
That’s because our research has shown us that in order to burn more fat, your body will need to be consistently supplied with the fuel it needs to do so.
Because both Hydroxycut Hardcore Elite and Hydroxycut Hardcore Next Gen contain considerable amounts of caffeine, the directions on the label encourage you to assess your tolerance when first starting out.
The directions are the same for both products and are quite complicated in our opinion. The labels on both products say:
Days 1 and 2: One capsule, once a day
Days 3 and 4: Two capsules, once a day
Days 5 and 6: Two capsules with first meal, One capsule with second meal
Day 7 and beyond: Two capsules, twice a day
This is all pretty complicated and not something we like to see. The fat burner supplements we recommend usually contain simple to follow directions.
Granted, it’s good to assess tolerance, but these directions are a little too complicated for our liking.
Each bottle of Hydroxycut Hardcore Elite contains 100 capsules, which means it will last you around 25 days if you stick to the recommended dosage of four capsules per day.
Each bottle of Hydroxycut Hardcore Next Gen contains 100 capsules, which means it will last you around 25 days if you stick to the recommended dosage of four capsules per day.
There are larger size bottles available of each product too, but we’ve stuck to the 100-count version for the sake of an easy comparison.
Next up are the all-important ingredients. This is where Hydroxycut Hardcore Elite and Next Gen finally start to go in their separate directions.
Here is a full comparison of the ingredients list of both products:
So, as you can probably see for yourself, both products contain three of the same ingredients – Caffeine Anhydrous, Coleus Extract and Yohimbe Extract.
Hydroxycut Hardcore Elite contains slightly less caffeine than Next Gen, but only by 20mg per serving.
The two products contain exactly the same amount of Coleus Extract (100mg) and Hardcore Elite contains slightly less Yohimbe.
The main part of Next Gen is a 400mg serving of a ‘Green Coffee Blend’. Green Coffee is one of our favourite fat burning ingredients because it contains good amounts of Chlorogenic Acid, which can reduce blood sugar and turn fat cells into energy.
Hydroxycut Hardcore Elite doesn’t contain any Green Coffee at all, which is a shame.
What we couldn’t believe when comparing these two popular products was that neither of them contain two of the most popular fat burning ingredients out there at the moment – Green Tea Extract and Cayenne Pepper.
These are two of our favorite fat burners, and their omission from the labels of both Elite and Next Gen is disappointing.
Fat burner supplements are usually pretty safe if they contain all natural ingredients.
That being said, we always recommend that you do your own research to determine whether you might be allergic to any of the ingredients.
The main concern we have about both of these products is the inclusion of Yohimbe.
It’s an extract from the bark of the Yohimbe tree traditionally used in western Africa as an aphrodisiac.
There are reports online which suggest that side effects of Yohimbe include stomach upset, excitation, tremor, sleep problems and anxiety, as well as other things. We don’t like the sound of any of that and Yohimbe is not one of our top recommended fat burner ingredients.
It’s also important to remember that both Next Gen and Elite contain very high levels of caffeine.
It’s important to bear this in mind if you already get caffeine from other sources (such as coffee).
And we’d definitely recommend not taking these supplements too close to bedtime, as the caffeine could affect your sleep – not what you want when you’re training hard.
The final category in our comparison is the all-important price. Which is better value, Hydroxycut Hardcore Elite or Hydroxycut Hardcore Next Gen?
The prices below from Amazon were correct at the time of writing this article:
Hydroxycut Hardcore Elite (100 capsules) – $18.99
Hydroxycut Hardcore Next Gen (100 capsules) – $24.99
As well as being fairly similar in terms of ingredients, these two products are also quite similar in price.
Hydroxycut Hardcore Elite was the slightly cheaper product of the two, with Next Gen costing $6 more at the time of writing.
Still, both prices are pretty reasonable for a fat burner supplement.
So, there we have it, our comparison of Hydroxycut Hardcore Elite and Hydroxycut Hardcore Next Gen.
We hope you found this article useful if you were trying to choose between the two products.
The main disappointing factor with both products is that we feel that they’re lacking some key ingredients (see Ingredients section above), and for that reason, we don’t class either of them as truly top fat burners.
We’re also not sure about the inclusion of Yohimbe as a fat burning ingredients.
Still, they are more affordable than some of the other products on the market at the moment.
