MuscleTech’s Hydroxycut range is one of the most popular lines around when it comes to fat burners, and so we were keen to see what makes Ultra Stim stand out.
So, just what is Hydroxycut Ultra Stim supposed to do?
The website says that it’s been designed to provide you with “extreme energy” and an “unparalleled sensory experience” (whatever that means).
Of course, the makes of this product also say that it provides “scientifically studied” effects.
That all sounds great, but does this product really live up to the marketing hype? Let’s take a close look at it to find out.
As you’ve no doubt already gathered, Hydroxycut Ultra Stim fits into the broader category of fitness supplements known as so-called ‘fat burners’.
These are supplements that use a number of ingredients such as plant extracts and vitamins and minerals.
This product in particular has been designed to give supply you with more stimulants than other similar products.
There are also some ingredients in Hydroxycut Ultra Stim which have been specifically included to help you with your goals.
Let’s now take a close look at the actual ingredients this product uses to see if it’s all it’s cracked up to be.
Let’s start this part by taking a look at the full ingredients label.
The first thing we like about the ingredients list is that MuscleTech have not used a proprietary blend. That means that all of the ingredients are clearly listed, along with their actual doses.
Let’s now take a close look at the top ingredients:
• Caffeine Anhydrous – A great ingredient. You’ll find some Caffeine in many of the leading products in this category, so it was great to see it listed on the label of Hydroxycut Ultra Stim. Each serving contains 250mg, which is a significant amount.
• Robusta Coffee Bean extract – This is another name for Green Coffee Bean extract, another one of our favorite ingredients. In case you didn’t know, unroasted coffee beans are high in a substance called Chlorogenic Acid. We always like to see this ingredient in supplements in this category.
• Yohimbe Extract – We’re not huge fans of this ingredient but we’ve seen it used in an increasing number of supplements recently. It has been linked with some benefits, but it is also linked to some side effects. In summary, we feel that there could have been some better ingredients used in its place.
• TeaCrine – This ingredient has similarities to Caffeine. We’ve not found it in too many supplements in this category. Each capsule of Hydroxycut Ultra Stim contains 25mg of TeaCrine.
As you can see from the ingredients list above, there are some other ingredients in Hydroxycut Ultra Stim such as Wakame Extract and Lycium Extract, but the ones above are the main ones that we feel are going to be the most beneficial.
Although Hydroxycut Ultra Stim does tick some big boxes when it comes to good ingredients, there are also quite a few of our favorite things missing.
For starters, there is no Green Tea Extract, which is one of our top-rated ingredients which you’ll find in most of the top products in this category.
It was also disappointing not to find any Cayenne Pepper on the label as this ingredient is one of our favorites.
Most modern supplements are likely to be pretty safe.
However, having said that, there are also a few things to look out for, such as the overuse of stimulants.
Caffeine is a great ingredient, but too much of it can cause unwanted side effects.
Each serving of Hydroxycut Ultra Stim contains 250mg of Caffeine, which may be too much for some people.
We also wouldn’t recommend taking this product too close to bedtime, as it could well affect your sleep due to the Caffeine content.
As mentioned above, Yohimbe Extract has been linked with side effects so this is something else to keep an eye on.
As always, we fully recommend that you closely read the ingredients label before trying a new supplement for the first time, and if in doubt, seek advice from a medical professional.
In fact, it’s always a good idea to speak to your doctor before taking any new supplement for the first time.
Each bottle of Hydroxycut Ultra Stim contains 90 liquid capsules.
The directions say that you should take one serving of two capsules twice daily, 30 to 60 minutes before your two main meals.
There is a warning saying not to consume more than four capsules in a 24-hour period.
The one thing we would say about the directions is that we tend to prefer supplements that require you to take them on a more regular basis, because that means your body is consistently being supplied with the ingredients.
At the time of writing this article, there were 37 reviews of Hydroxycut Ultra Stim on the bodybuilding.com website.
It had an average rating of 8.6 out of 10.
One happy customer said that it gave them great energy and encouraged them to do more excercise when looking to shred fat.
Someone else said that they had just started using the product and they liked it a lot so far.
It seems to be well reviews, but it’s difficult to tell whether bodybuilding.com censor their reviews or not.
Not in our opinion. Hydroxycut Ultra Stim does contain some good ingredients, but we don’t class it as one of the best supplements out there right now.
It’s missing two of our favorite ingredients – Cayenne Pepper and Green Tea Extract, which we were disappointed about.
We recently updated our guide to the best five supplements on sale right now. Check it out by hitting the link below.
As we always say when discussing health and fitness supplements of any type, there is no such thing as a ‘magic weight loss pill’.
You should always make sure that your diet and training regime are both on point before considering taking any supplement for the first time.
That being said, if you’re already training hard and eating well, a quality supplement can help to support you on your journey.
That wraps up our review of Hydroxycut Ultra Stim.
In conclusion, we think that this is an OK product, but feel that it’s let down by the fact that it’s missing some of our favorite ingredients.
The fact that it also contains quite a large number of stimulants may also be a cause for concern for some people.
