Both brands are well-known in the health and fitness industry and they both produce similar products.
The problem is that sometimes it can be difficult to decide which product is best. The purpose of this comparison article is to pit Hydroxycut against Grenade to determine which is best, or if there are better options available from other manufacturers.
To compare the two products, we looked at the following five key areas:
• Company reputation and product background
• The servings
• The ingredients and dosages
• Side effects
So, let’s take a five-step look at the differences and similarities between these two products as we try and determine which is the best.
Hydroxycut Hardcore Elite summary:
• Made by MuscleTech
• Promotes thermogenic fat burning
• Increases energy levels
• Promotes weight loss
Grenade Thermo Detonator summary:
• Made by Grenade
• Promotes weight loss
• Boosts energy
• Reduces fatigue
• Suppresses appetite
As you can see from the simple comparisons above, both of these products are designed to do similar things and are marketed in similar ways. No wonder it can be tricky to pick between them.
Both products contain ingredients to boost energy levels and help keep you feeling on point even when cutting or dieting.
They also contain thermogenic ingredients such as Cayenne Pepper to help boost your metabolism and get your body burning more fat in a natural way.
In terms of the company backgrounds, both firms are pretty popular and these two products are well known in the industry. That being said, just because lots of them are sold, it doesn’t make them the best products.
We always recommend taking a close look at the directions of your fat burner supplement because they can give a clear indicator as to how good a product is really going to be.
Getting your body to burn more fat is not an easy feat, and you’ll need to be supplying it with all of the necessary nutrients and fuel to do this.
That means regular servings of proven quality ingredients. The more regularly you have to take a fat burner, the more effective it’s likely to be.
With Grenade Thermo Detonator, you take two capsules on an empty stomach upon waking with water, and then another two capsules 30 minutes prior to lunch with water.
With Hydroxycut Elite, you start off with one capsule once a day, before working your way up to two capsules twice a day after a week, as per the instructions on the label.
Neither of these product offer ideal serving suggestions in our opinion.
If the total dose is four capsules per day, they should be spread out evenly in one-capsule servings to be truly effective – but that’s just our opinion.
Now it’s time to look at the all-important ingredients. Do these products live up to all of the hype?
Let’s kick this part off by comparing the exact ingredients lists of both products.
As you can see, there are some key differences between these two products but there are also some similarities as well.
The first thing that we didn’t like about Grenade’s stack is that the manufacturer has decided to use a proprietary blend.
This is when the individual ingredients are listed but the doses are not – instead, they are totalled up into a ‘blend’.
We never like to see this in any kind of supplement because it makes it incredibly difficult to judge the true effectiveness of the product.
In contrast, Hydroxycut do show the doses of each individual ingredient, which is what we like to see.
Both products use a substance called Yohimbe. We’re not too sure about this ingredient as it’s been known to cause some unwanted side effects in some people. We certainly don’t include it in our list of best fat burner ingredients.
One good point is that both products use Caffeine Anhydrous as a way to boost energy levels and possibly speed up metabolism. Caffeine is one of our favorite fat burner ingredients so we were pleased to see it on the label.
A good thing that Grenade has over Hydroxycut in this case is that it uses a dose of Cayenne Pepper (Capsicum Annuum).
This is one of our top rated fat burner ingredients, and quite frankly we wouldn’t consider taking a product that didn’t use it.
Cayenne works to both suppress appetite and stimulate your metabolism. The only downside is that because of Grenade’s proprietary blend, we don’t know how much is actually included in each dose.
Hydroxycut uses Green Coffee Bean Extract, however, which is also one of our top rated fat burner ingredients.
Grenade, however, uses Green Tea Extract – another of our top fat burner ingredients. If only we knew how much was included in each serving, though.
We recently updated our list of the best five fat burners on sale right now, ranked in terms of their ingredients profile and effectiveness. Check it out by hitting the link above.
Next it’s time to focus on the all-important issue of side effects.
Fortunately, most fat burner products on the market these days are pretty safe because they tend to only use natural ingredients.
Of course, however, there are always things to look out for. For example, you should check to see the total amount of stimulants such as caffeine in the product your taking, because too much can bring on issues such as the jitters and energy crashes.
We don’t know how much Caffeine is in Grenade Thermo Detonator because of the proprietary blend but Hydroxycut uses 270mg of Caffeine per two-capsule serving, which is quite a lot.
We always recommend doing your own research into the ingredients before taking a product for the first time.
The fact that Grenade uses a proprietary blend definitely makes it harder to judge whether you’re likely to experience side effects or not.
Our final section is all about the all-important price tag. Which of these two products offers the better value for money?
Hydroxycut Elite currently costs around $38.99 for 100 capsules.
Grenade Thermo Detonator currently costs around $59.95 for 100 capsules.
As you can see, Hydroxycut’s offering is slightly cheaper than Grenade’s product.
Seeing as both products require you to take a maximum of four capsules per day, 100 capsules is going to last you 25 days.
So there we have it, our full comparison of Hydroxycut vs Grenade.
It’s actually pretty difficult to pick between these two products.
On the one hand, Grenade contains a great selection of ingredients, but it’s let down by the fact it’s a bit more expensive and uses a proprietary belnd.
On the other hand, Hydroxycut’s product is cheaper and clearly lists the doses of each ingredient. But there are quite a few things missing from Hardcore Elite in our opinion.
Our recommendation? To go with a fat burner which clearly lists its ingredients and has good customer reviews. You can check out our pick of the best products by hitting the link below.
