It includes number of different weight loss ingredients intended to help you wage war on fat.
According to the Grenade website, Killa Ketones’ mission is to optimise fat loss in women. It claims to be a broad spectrum fat burner that helps you lose weight by suppressing your appetite and lowering blood sugar.
We’ve decided to put it under the microscope. We’ve had a look over the ingredient list and taken account of what’s being said about it by customers online.
We’ll let you know how it stacks up against some of the other fat burners available right now.
As we’ve already mentioned, Grenade Killa Ketones is one of the few supplements in the female only category. These types of fat burners are usually formulated and dosed for women.
A good female fat burner will usually have a number of key attributes and work in a number of different ways.
In general, they should work by reducing cravings as well as boosting your metabolism. You should also be looking for natural ingredients that support general wellbeing and hormonal health.
On their website, Grenade cite a number of different scientific studies backing up their formula.
Having had a quick look at the label, we found Killa Ketones includes 16 different active ingredients.
Whilst plenty of these are proven fat burners the sheer volume of them did give us concerns about whether they were adequately dosed or not.
And whilst this formula is certainly one of the most comprehensive around, we feel that it’s still missing some of the most effective fat burning ingredients.
We’ve broken down Killa Ketones’ formula here:
• Caffeine Anhydrous – Like many products in this category, this supplement includes caffeine, and quite a lot of it.
Caffeine is stimulant that mainly works by raising your core temperature, this boosts your metabolic rate to help lose weight. Too much caffeine can sometimes affect heart rate so if you’re sensitive to it you might want keep this in mind.
• African Mango – African Mango is not an ingredient we’ve seen that often in these kind of supplements. According to Grenade’s website, it’s been shown to positively affect body composition, although they don’t specify how.
Research has shown that fibrous ingredients can sometimes improve blood cholesterol levels. From what we’ve read, the research around African Mango is still lacking somewhat and more needs to be done before we can be sure it’s effective or even totally safe.
• Vitamins B6 and B12 – We always like to see important vitamins like this on a fat burner’s ingredients list.
B vitamins help your body to get rid of toxins from the liver and kidneys. They also play an important role in metabolising carbohydrates more efficiently, meaning your body can burn them as energy. B6 can have a positive effect on Cortisol (the stress hormone) and improve sleep by converting amino acids into Serotonin.
• L-carnitine – Not something we’d typically associate with a top fat burner. L carnitine is better known for its ability to improve mental alertness and cognitive function.
Whilst this isn’t a bad thing, you could argue that this ingredient is taking place of more proven fat burners.
The other ingredients in Killa Ketones are shown below. As we mentioned, this list is very large and as a result some of the better ingredients are arguably under-dosed in our opinion.
While there’s no doubt some great ingredients in this fat burner some of them are little low in dose, in particular it only includes 50 mg of Green Coffee, which isn’t enough for our liking. Especially as we consider this to be one of the very best fat burning ingredients.
There are also a couple of top ingredients that aren’t included. One notable omission is Glucomannan – this is a shame as it’s one of our top picks when it comes to suppressing appetite.
It was also disappointing not see Turmeric in this formulation, we like to see Turmeric in a female fat burner as it supports healthy levels of Estrogen.
All this put together means that Killa Ketones doesn’t make it onto our list of the very best products in this category.
Broadly speaking these types of fat burners are safe to take because they only use natural compounds. It’s always good to check the ‘supplement facts’ though especially if you have allergies or sensitivities to certain ingredients.
Killa Ketones has a moderately high amount of caffeine, which if taken late at night could cause sleep problems.
We’re also a little wary of the inclusion of African Mango, little is known about this ingredient and whether it’s a totally safe slimming aid.
Each bottle of Killa Ketones includes 60 weight management capsules.
The directions of use are quite complicated, depending on whether you’re training or on an off-day. The recommended daily dose is two capsules a day, meaning one bottle will last you around a month.
However, for the first seven days they recommend taking one capsule a day to assess your tolerance.
They also suggest drinking up to eight glasses of water whilst using the product and to stop using the capsules if you’re feeling unwell.
For best results, it’s recommended that you maintain a healthy diet and do 2-3 high intensity workouts a week.
We found plenty of reviews of Grenade’s Killa Ketones online, what we discovered was a little mixed.
One woman referred to Killa Ketones as a great product to train with, whilst another said it gave a great boost whilst working out. Someone else also said that it made her less bloated in time for her holiday.
However, we did find a few negative comments too. One customer said it was an OK product but she’d seen no weight loss.
Another said that it made her heart race and she experienced panic attacks whilst using it.
We don’t think so. Although Killa Ketones does include some proven fat burners we don’t believe it’s the most effective formula out there.
There are a few key things that have been left out and some of our favourite ingredients are underdosed. It’s also quite high in caffeine which women tend to be more sensitive to.
We recently compiled our best fat burners on sale right now after reviewing the ingredients as well as customer reviews. Click the link below to see what made the list.
The key thing to remember with a good fat burning supplement is that it’s designed help you boost your performance and speed up your progress.
Remember, you can’t rely on it to do all the work for you – for the very best results you need to be pairing it with solid diet and workout regime.
So what’s the upshot? How does Killa Ketones fare against some of the other top products out there? Here are our thoughts broken down:
• Contains some proven fat burners
• Cheaper option
• Some key ingredients missing including Glucomannan.
• Doses a bit low in places
So that’s that, we’ve had a look at Grenade Killa Ketones’ female formula from all angles. We’ve weighed up the pros and cons of the ingredients, doses and price point for this supplement.
All in all, we think that it’s not a bad product and a reasonable choice if you’re on a budget. However, for a few different reasons it doesn’t come close to some of the other top fat burners available right now.
