Billed as a lightweight trainer for those who seek speed in the gym or on the road, the New Balance Vazee Rush is an impressive generalist shoe.

Fit: The Rush uses a no-sew construction which provides a sock-like fit, with a midfoot saddle. The shoe has a supportive feel and is constructed from breathable material.
Feel: The shoe is engineered with a REVlite midsole and a sprung forefoot, which helps fuel a quick transition from midstance through to toe off. A podular, flexible blown rubber forefoot is designed with quick reactions in mind. The forefoot is also designed for lateral movement, making it a good choice for the gym and exercises other than straight running.

Ride: A deconstructed heel counter helps to offer lightweight support without feeling restrictive and the high ride felt comfortable both on the treadmill and the road.
Weight: 229 grams (8 oz)
Offset: 6mm drop
Price: £85.00 from New Balance
Verdict: The Rush is a good option for causal runners looking for a reasonably lightweight shoe to handle the rigours of both the road and the gym.
