Night Shredder is a supplement made by Matrix Nutrition, and not only does it promise to help lose fat, but it’s also designed to promote better sleep.

The most similar product we’ve reviewed recently is Thermo Detonator Stim Free by Grenade.

In this review, we will take a look at Night Shredder, the ingredients used, how customers have rated it and how the fat burner compares to other products on the market at the moment.

What does Night Shredder by Matrix Nutrition do?

According to the website, Night Shredder is a carefully developed, stimulant free fat burner engineered not only to shred fat whilst you sleep, but also facilitate deep rest and recuperation.

This product is slightly different to other fat burners in the market given that Night Shredder is designed to improve your sleeping patterns and doesn’t contain any stimulants.

Matrix Nutrition’s website tells us that a good night’s sleep is vital to help resynchronise cortisol levels, allowing your body to fully rest and recover.

Of course, most fat burners use things like Caffeine and Green Tea extract to fuel energy levels and shouldn’t be taken late in the evening to avoid disruption to your sleep patterns.

So the big question is, will Night Shredder actually help you achieve your weight loss goals – and will it also support a more restful night’s sleep?

Let’s take a look at the ingredients Matrix Nutrition have used to create this interesting fat burner.

What you need to know about the ingredients

Night Shredder has made some bold claims about aiding your sleep patterns.

Unlike most fat burners in the market, Night Shredder doesn’t use stimulants but instead uses other fat burning ingredients.

There are some good inclusions in the list, but there are also many key ingredients missing in our opinion. But more on that later.

Raspberry Ketone – We haven’t seen Raspberry Ketone used in many fat burners that we have reviewed.

It is a chemical that comes from red raspberries, as well as kiwifruit, peaches, grapes, apples and other berries.

It’s thought to increase metabolism and can affect a hormone in the body called adiponectin. Adiponectin can increase the rate at which the body burns fat and reduce appetite.

Irvingia Gabonensis – Another name for this ingredient is African Mango Extract, which definitely sounds less intimidating than Irvingia Gabonensis.

African Mango Extract causes fat loss by blocking the deposition of new fat, absorption of sugars and by acting as a laxative.

It can also help to reduce blood pressure, which is another reason for its inclusion in Night Shredder, so this ingredient won’t disrupt your sleep.

L-carnitine – L-carnitine has the ability to transfer fatty acids into mitochondria, where they may be oxidized to produce energy. Sounds very scientific!

This ingredient is thought to have the ability to suppress your appetite and reduce fatigue in your body, which are two useful qualities.

L-carnitine can also aid the building of muscle mass, bone mass, male fertility and boost your immune system.

Conjugated linoleic acid – Conjugated linoleic acid, or CLA, is a trans fat that is found in small amount in dairy foods.

When tested on mice, CLA reduced their body fat by up to 60 per cent.

Excited at the prospect of cutting your body fat in more than half? Don’t get too carried away, as its effect on humans isn’t as clear.

Magnesium – Magnesium is a mineral readily found in your body. Indeed, about half of it is found in your bones, while the other half lies in your organs and cells.

However, the mineral does not directly enhance weight and fat loss, but it may help in some way.

So we would perhaps question its inclusion in Night Shredder.

Theanine – Theanine has become very popular in recent years since it was found to be one of the chief components of green tea.

Night Shredder doesn’t contain Green Tea Extract, which is an ingredient that we like to see in good fat burners.

However, Theanine could act as a potential substitute for Green Tea Extract in Matrix Nutrition’s fat burner.

5-HTP – 5-HTP is a chemical that works in the brain and central nervous system by increasing the production of the chemical serotonin.

Serotonin has a big role to play in sleep, appetite and body temperature, which explains the inclusion of 5-HTP in Night Shredder.

Gelatine – When you think of super foods with fat-burning attributes, Gelatine isn’t one that would spring to mind.

However, the Gelatine can regular your blood sugar and help to suppress that troublesome sweet tooth.

It can also aid the growth of muscles because it is a good source of protein.

Glycerin – Glycerin is becoming increasingly popular in the fitness industry.

Indeed, you can probably find this ingredient in most health bars as it can control insulin spikes.

It’s also thought to support fat burning and could help to reduce body-fat storage.

What’s missing?

So, Night Shredder has a different approach to the fat burner market, there are definitely better products which contain more effective ingredients out there right now.

Caffeine – Caffeine is a stimulant that is found in the majority of fat burners in the market at the moment.

Of course, Night Shredder doesn’t use Caffeine to allow the product to be taken in the evening or before bed.

However, we have found that Caffeine is a really effective stimulate than we like to see in fat burners to help you feel energised. It’s a natural ingredient – too.

Cayenne Pepper Extract – We consider Cayenne Pepper Extract to be an essential ingredient in fat burners.

It is a powerful thermogenic and this spicy ingredient can raise your body’s core temperature, prompting calories to be burnt as you cool yourself down. It’s also an appetite suppressant.

Are there any side effects?

Having look at some reviews of Night Shredder online, some customers seemed to have suffered with constipation after taking this product.

Others have complained that while falling asleep hasn’t been a problem, it has increased the frequency of visits to the toilet during the night, which would clearly be counter productive.

How to take Night Shredder Matrix Nutrition

Matrix Nutrition’s instructions for taking Night Shredder are minimal, which isn’t particularly useful.

Users are advised to take two capsules, 30 to 45 minutes before intended bed time.

Taking two capsules a day as they recommend means that one bottle of 120 capsules would last for around two months, which is longer than most products we’ve reviewed.

What are customers saying?

One customer said Night Shredder has helped to improve their sleep and lose weight.

Another user said that it has definitely had a positive impact on their sleep patterns but questioned Night Shredder’s ability to burn fat.

One consumer warned that the capsules are quite big so are difficult to swallow and advised using a big glass of water with Night Shredder.

Another review on their website said that “relax and recoup” are the best words to use to describe Night Shredder’s effects.

Is this the best fat burner?

It’s a good option and could help to improve your sleep but we have to question whether it’s effective when it comes to weight loss. Night Shredder is missing some key ingredients in our opinion, and perhaps Matrix Nutrition should consider using stimulants in any future fat burner products.

We’ve recently picked out our selection of the best fat burners on sale right now, and you can check them out by clicking the link below.

Anything else to consider?

We always recommend that you make sure that your diet and excercise routine is in good shape before trying any supplements like this one.

It’s also worth bearing in mind that because Night Shredder doesn’t contain any stimulants, it may not be as effective as similar products.

Review conclusion – our final thoughts

So, is this a good fat burner option for you? There are some good and bad things about Night Shredder, here it is in a nutshell:

– Doesn’t use stimulants
– Can be taken in the evening and before bed
– Potential positive impact on your sleep patterns

– Some customers complained of bloating and constipation
– Not as effective as other fat burners in the market
– Missing some stimulants that we consider important

Check out our list below, in which we’ve picked out the best fat burners on sale at the moment, all of which contain the best ingredients.

So there we have it, our review of Night Shredder Matrix Nutrition. We’ve walked you through the ingredients list and explained how this product is a little bit different to other fat burners available right now.

Overall, this is an interesting product but we can’t help but feel that there are more effective fat burners available at the moment.
