Over the past three or four years, there’s been an influx of plant-based products within the fitness market.
However, it’s not always clear what goes into these vegan supplements.
Purchasing protein – whether it’s whey or vegan – is a significant investment.
In this article, we’re going to take a look at Norvia Nutrition’s Active Performance, what we thought of the product and the price.

Norvia Nutrition, the Norwegian plant-based protein brand backed by 30 years of meticulous medical research, recently launched in the UK with two unique formulas including Norvia Weight Loss (VLCD) and Norvia Active Performance.
Founder and chairman, Dr Lars Høie MD PhD, established Norvia on the science of natural nutrition and has created formulations which have been the most successful weight reduction products in Scandinavia, proven effective and safe by millions of users.
It was Dr Høie’s ambition to devote his personal and professional life to focus on the prevention of these diseases and to discover nutritional solutions for health issues caused by diet and lifestyle.
Norvia’s innovative products combine naturally extracted soy protein, soy fibre and soy phospholipids to create a synergistic effect that doubles the cholesterol lowering effect of soy protein alone.
Both products are rich in vital macro and micronutrients, vitamins and minerals which are required by the body to preserve muscle mass and maximum performance in sports and safe weight loss.
Norvia Nutrition active performance is to be used with fitness training.
You can prepare your body for exercise, boost your energy and stamina during training, and reduce your recovery phase.
Norvia Nutrition give you the flexibility to replace meals with shakes when not working out to maintain perfect balanced nutrition.
The Scandinavian company offer two flavours: Arctic chocolate and Ice vanilla.
Unlike many other protein powder companies, Norvia Nutrition use single portion foil sachets for maximum freshness and convenience.
Norva Nutrition give some clear and helpful instruction on how to get the most out of your active performance protein powder.
• Take 1 x shake 30min – 1 hr before exercise to prepare your body for activity.
• Take 1 x shake during exercise to boost energy levels.
• Take 2 x a day on days where you do not exercise, as a meal replacement.
I stopped taking whey protein around 2017 but I decided to give Norvia Active Performance a try after being impressed by the company’s approach to fitness and weight loss.
I opted for the active performance because I try to get to the gym for an intense workout at least four or five times a week. I was particularly interested to see if I felt a boost in my stamina levels.
To my delight, I felt it did give me a little extra edge. With a shake before and during my workout, my body seemed to recover a quicker than usual too.
I’ve dropped four kilos over the past month after being hitting the gym six times a week. I’m sure Norvia played a part in this.
Although both flavours were good, I preferred the Ice vanilla flavour, which was good on its own but complimented a shake with oats, banana, cinnamon and peanut butter.
Norvia Active Performance is priced at £29.95 for 10 sachets on their website.
For someone with a limited budget, it could be a little out of their price range. In my experience, it’s a worthwhile investment if you can afford it.
Let’s hear a little more from Dr Lars Høie:
“We are very excited to be introducing Norvia Nutrition to the UK following its success in Scandinavia.
“Having spent 30 years developing and researching natural products which could prevent lifestyle disorders, I co-founded the Centre for Heart Medicine where I treated hundreds of patients using a natural plant-based formula which I had developed from my extensive research.
“In addition to significant weight losses, the patients at the centre achieved normalised blood sugar and cholesterol levels, while also lowering other cardiovascular risk factors.”
So there you have it, that’s our review of Norvia Active Performance.
The product tastes great and provided me with a little boost in my workouts.
It was reassuring that the Norwegian plant-based protein brand backed by 30 years of meticulous medical research.
