Norvia Active Performance Review

It can be a confusing and overwhelming experience trying to find a good and tasty plant-based protein.

Over the past three or four years, there’s been an influx of plant-based products within the fitness market.

However, it’s not always clear what goes into these vegan-friendly supplements. Purchasing protein supplements – whether whey or vegan – is a significant investment.

In this article, we’re going to take a look at Norvia Nutrition’s Active Performance, what we thought of the product and the price.

Norvia Nutrition – The Basics

Norvia Nutrition, the Norwegian plant-based protein brand backed by “30 years of meticulous research”.

The brand has recently launched in the UK with two unique formulas including ‘Norvia Weight Loss’ (VLCD) and ‘Norvia Active Performance’.

Norvia’s products combine naturally-extracted soy protein, soy fibre and soy phospholipids in their formulas.

Both products are rich in macro and micronutrients, vitamins and minerals, and they come in a powder form designed to be mixed with water or a plant-based milk to form a shake.

What Is Norvia Active Performance?

The Norvia Nutrition Active Performance supplement is designed to be used alongside a healthy diet and sensible exercise plan.

The Scandinavian company offer two flavours for their Active Performance supplement:

• Arctic Chocolate
• Ice Vanilla

Unlike many other protein powder companies, Norvia Nutrition use single-portion foil sachets for maximum freshness and convenience.

How Do You Use Norvia Active Performance?

Norva Nutrition give some clear and helpful suggestions on how to get the most out of your active performance protein powder.

• Take 1 x shake 30 minutes to one hour before exercise to prepare your body for activity.

• Take 1 x shake during exercise to support your training.

• Take 2 x a day on days where you do not exercise, as a meal replacement.

The directions simply say that you should add the sachet to water in a shaker and you’re good to go

Our Verdict

I stopped taking whey protein around 2017 but I decided to give Norvia Active Performance a try after being impressed by the company’s approach to fitness and nutrition.

I opted for the active performance because I try to get to the gym for an intense workout at least four or five times a week. To my delight, I felt it did give me a little extra edge.

Although both flavours were good, I preferred the Ice Vanilla flavour, which was good on its own but complemented a shake with oats, banana, cinnamon and peanut butter.

Price

Norvia Active Performance is priced at around €29.95 for 10 sachets on their website.

For someone with a limited budget, it could be a little out of their price range.

What Does The Founder Have To Say?

Norvia Nutrition was founded by Dr Lars Høie MD PhD, who graduated with an MD from University Aarhus, Denmark in 1983.

Over the last three decades, Dr. Høie has worked with medical opinion leaders at University Hospitals in Europe and the U.S. resulting in 32 internationally-published studies.

Dr. Høie received his PhD in protein and lipid research from Oslo University in 2011, and is currently working on his second PhD related to cardiovascular health.

“We are very excited to be introducing Norvia Nutrition to the UK following its success in Scandinavia,” said Dr Høie.

“Having spent 30 years developing and researching natural products, I co-founded the Centre for Heart Medicine where I treated hundreds of patients using a natural plant-based formula which I had developed from my extensive research.”
