We take a close look at the Nugenix supplement to see if it's all it's cracked up to be or not
Nugenix is a supplement sold online at stores such as Amazon and GNC.
If you’re looking to find out all there is to know about this product and see where it stands in relation to the best so-called ‘testosterone boosters’ on the market right now, then you’re in the right place.
Our Nugenix review is going to focus on all of the important things that you need to know about this supplement as we look to discover where it ranks.
Nugenix is one of the more popular supplements out there in this category, but does it deserve all the attention it’s been getting?
In this review, we’re going to focus on all of the key factors surrounding this supplement.
We’re going to take a close look at the ingredients formula, the doses, the servings and the customer feedback as we delve in to see exactly how good this supplement really is.
The supplement market has grown so quickly in recent years that it’s become pretty difficult to pick out the best products. And that’s where we come in.
We’ve made it our mission this year to review as many supplements as possible to separate out the good products from the not-so-good.
So, let’s now get down to business and start looking at the Nugenix supplement in a bit more detail.
What does Nugenix do?
As we’ve already gathered, Nugenix fits into the broader category of supplements known as so-called ‘testosterone boosters’.
These are supplements which have usually been specifically formulated with ingredients that can contribute to the maintenance of normal serum testosterone levels.
Some people wrongly assume that these kinds of supplements actually contain testosterone, but in fact they simply use a range of ingredients such as plant extracts, vitamins and minerals.
Nugenix is available to buy on both Amazon and GNC – and it’s currently priced at $57.99 for a bottle containing 90 capsules.
According to the official marketing material of this supplement, it will help you in a number of ways to achieve your goals.
Not bad claims, but of course the real proof as to whether this product actually works or not can be found in the ingredients formula.
According to the official marketing material on Amazon, Nugenix has been formulated to help men on their journey.
It also says that it uses “clinically studied ingredients” to deliver its effects.
This all sounds pretty good to us, but as we’ve mentioned above, the real proof as to whether Nugenix is any good or not is going to be found in the ingredients formula.
So let’s now turn our attentions towards what ingredients this supplement uses and see if they’re actually effective or not.
What you need to know about the ingredients
Let’s begin this part by taking a look at the actual ingredients label of Nugenix.
Before we get into the individual ingredients, we must say that we were disappointed to see that Nugenix uses a proprietary blend.
This is when a manufacturer chooses to hide the doses of the individual ingredients and instead only include the amount for the total ‘blend’.
We see no reason for manufacturers to do this, and we generally advise saying away from products that do so, because it means that you don’t know how much of each individual ingredient is actually used in the supplement.
• Vitamin B6 – B Vitamins are great for promoting overall wellbeing, so they are a good inclusion for most supplements. B6 in particular is good for a range of bodily functions. In case you didn’t know Vitamin B6 can contribute to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue, amongst other things.
• Vitamin B12 – Another important B Vitamin which plays a number of roles. Once again, B12 can contribute to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue, and normal energy-yielding metabolism.
• Zinc – This is a great ingredient so we were pleased to find it in the Nugenix formula. In case you didn’t know, Zinc contributes to the maintenance of normal serum testosterone levels, as well as normal fertility and reproductions.
• L-Citrulline Malate – This is an ingredient which we’re more used to finding in some of the best pre workout supplements than supplements like this. It’s an amino acid that’s extracted from watermelons. Again, it’s not a bad inclusion, it’s just that there are some other substances that Nugenix could have used in its place.
• Fenugreek – A good inclusion for a supplement like this. Fenugreek is a herb which is packed full of minerals. We always like to see it used in supplements in this category and so it was good to find it on the label.
• Tribulus Terrestris – This is one of those ingredients that regularly found its way into some of the first supplements like this to hit the market. Despite the manufacturer claims, there’s not a whole lot of scientific evidence to suggest that it’s actually very beneficial, sadly. Something better could have easily been used in its place.
The Nugenix formula does contain a few decent ingredients such as Zinc and Vitamins B6 and B12.
However, it also falls short in some areas by not using some of our favorite ingredients. Here are the main ingredients that are missing:
• D-Aspartic Acid
• Magnesium and Zinc
• Black Pepper Extract
It was a genuine shame that Nugenix didn’t use any D-Aspartic Acid. This is one of our favorite and most commonly used ingredients in a supplement like this, so it was a shame not to find it in the formula.
Although Nugenix does use Fenugreek, we would also liked to have seen Magnesium included as a standalone ingredient.
And finally, it was a shame that Nugenix didn’t use any Black Pepper Extract in the formula. Most of the top supplements out there contain some black pepper extract.

Are there any Nugenix side effects?
The Nugenix formula is a pretty safe one that uses natural ingredients, so you shouldn’t have to worry too much about suffering from any potential side effects.
Nugenix doesn’t use any stimulants such as Caffeine, so that’s one whole category of side effects avoided.
That being said, we do always recommend that you do some of your own research and look through the ingredients label before taking any new supplement for the first time.
We do also recommend that you speak to your doctor before thinking about trying any new supplement for the first time.
How to take Nugenix
Each bottle of Nugenix contains 90 capsules. That means that one bottle has been designed to last you for a month.
The directions are pretty straightforward, they simply say that you should take three capsules daily with water on an empty stomach.
There’s a warning on the label saying that Nugenix is not suitable for women.
What are customers saying?
We did some digging online to find some Nugenix reviews.
At the time of writing, there were more than 1,000 reviews on Amazon, with an average rating of 3.4 out of 5 stars.
One person said that they liked the product, and that they had been using it for a couple of years and enjoyed positive effects.
However, one less impressed customer said that they took it for three months and blood tests showed no improvement for them.
Is this the best supplement?
Not really. Nugenix does use a few decent ingredients such as Zinc, Fenugreek and B Vitamins, but it’s let down badly by the fact that it uses a proprietary blend.
It also misses some of our favorite ingredients such as D-Aspartic Acid and Magnesium, and with all of that in mind, we don’t rate it as one of the very best supplements out there right now.

Anything else to consider?
You should always remember that supplements of this type are designed to be combined with a healthy diet and regular exercise.
They are not formulated to work on their own – you should always first make sure that you’ve got your diet and training regime on point before considering adding any kind of supplement to your daily rituals.
That said, if you’re already making sensible lifestyle choices and you feel as though you could do with something to step up your results, then choosing a high quality supplement can help to support you on your journey.
Nugenix review conclusion
So, this brings us to the end of our Nugenix review.
We must say that we were pretty disappointed by this supplement, as it’s one of the more popular ones out there and seemed to promise much.
However, it’s let down badly by the fact that it uses a proprietary blend to hide the doses of the ingredients, and it’s also missing some key substances such as D-Aspartic Acid.
In summary, there are some far better options available to you right now if you’re looking for a product in this category.
