THE Amino Boost Myprotein – The Basics
It comes in a flavoured powder form, and it’s designed to be mixed into water to make a drink and consumed around your training.
We tried out the ‘Watermelon’ flavour. The supplement comes in a matte black bottle which certainly has a premium feel to it.
THE Amino Boost contains a range of ingredients including Amino Acids, Caffeine and Vitamin C.
The marketing material on the official Myprotein website says that this supplement has been specifically crafted to help support you on your health and fitness journey and increase your intake of BCAAs in a convenient way.
It’s certainly an interesting supplement, as it stands in between a pre workout and a BCAA supplement, and it’s presumably aimed at people who want to feel the benefits of both types of product.
So, now that we’ve covered some of the basic things you need to know about THE Amino Boost, it’s time to take a closer look at the actual ingredients formula.
Let’s begin this part by looking at the actual ingredients formula of THE Amino Boost, as shown on the official Myprotein website at the time of writing.
Be sure to check the label of any supplement you’re thinking of taking, as the manufacturers may change their formulas from time to time.
As you can see for yourself, the bulk of the ingredients in THE Amino Boost formula are amino acids.
This supplement contains doses of some of the important Branched Chain Amino Acids: Leucine, Isoleucine and Valine at the commonly-used ratio of 2:1:1.
However, THE Amino Boost formula also stretches a bit further than you’re ‘standard’ amino acid supplement, as it also contains a range of other amino acids including L-Citrulline, L-Theanine and L-Glutamine.
As well as the main amino acids found in its formula, THE Amino Boost also contains some other ingredients including Caffeine, Vitamin C and Green Tea Extract.
Each serving of THE Amino Boost contains 100mg of “Natural” Caffeine. This is about the same amount of Caffeine you’d expect to find in a regular cup of coffee.
It’s certainly an interestingly-positioned supplement, and it can be viewed as a pre workout with some added amino acids.
How To Take It
The directions for this supplement are pretty straightforward. They simply say that you should add one scoop (10g) to 250-350ml of water or juice in a shaker before, during, or after exercise.
The directions also say that you can enjoy this supplement around exercise or as a pick-me-up throughout the day.
You should carefully read the label of any supplement you’re thinking of taking to ensure that you are following the directions and warnings.
Because of the Caffeine content in this supplement, it’s probably best not to take it within about six hours of when you plan to go to sleep.
We tried out the ‘Watermelon’ flavour of THE Amino Boost, but there are also some other options when it comes to the flavours.
We mixed one scoop into a glass of water as the label directed us to.
The mixture took quite a few stirs to finally dissolve into the water, and it turned the liquid a light pink colour.
In terms of the flavour, it was not the best supplement drink we’ve ever tried, although it wasn’t the worst either. It did have a fruity taste, but it also was a little bit ‘synthetic’.
Price and Where To Buy
One tub of THE Amino Boost is 300g and contains 30 servings.
You can buy THE Amino Boost directly from Myprotein on the official website, where it costs around £25 per tub.
It’s worth checking the site for the latest prices, as they can change from time to time.
As always, we recommend that you speak to your doctor before taking a new supplement or making any major lifestyle changes.
It’s also important that you carefully read the entire label of any supplement you’re thinking of taking.
There are a number of warnings shown on the label of THE Amino Boost, including that you should not exceed the stated recommended daily dose.
The label also says that this supplement must not be consumed by pregnant, lactating women, children or adolescents, or for prolonged periods without medical supervision.
It also says that you shouldn’t take this supplement on an empty stomach.

Anything Else To Consider?
As we mentioned above, you should speak to your doctor before making any major lifestyle changes or taking a new supplement.
Food supplements are not intended to replace a varied, balanced diet and a healthy overall lifestyle.
Ensuring that you are sticking to a healthy diet, following a sensible exercise plan and getting enough quality sleep are three important things you can do to support your overall health.
Supplements can be good additions to your health and fitness regime – but it’s always important to get the basics right first when it comes to your diet and training programme.
