For this part, we’re going to focus specifically on the TrueDark Twilight Elite and the Night Swannies, as these are the two most similar products they offer.

TrueDark Twilight Elite

The Twilight Elite is the main lens offered by TrueDark for use after sunset. The idea is that they block out some of the blue and green light to help to tell your body that it’s dark outside and that it’s time to prepare for bed.

The official TrueDark website says that their Twilight Elite lens effectively blocks out 98 per cent of blue, green and violet wavelengths of light. This does mean that they do let a little bit of blue light through. However, we only really noticed this when looking closely at a screen.

If you’re looking for a solution that blocks out all blue light, then the Twilight Classic may be a better option for you. Bon Charge and Ra Optics are also good options.

What’s cool about the TrueDark lenses is that they use patent-pending technology. Unlike many other blue light blocking glasses out there, the lenses are actually a solid color, rather than simply clear lenses with a tint added.

We are big fans of the Twilight Elites here at The Sport Review. They have been a great addition to our bedtime routine. The only thing we noticed is that they do tend to led in a little bit more blue light than some of the other brands we’ve tried.

Night Swannies

Night Swannies are the main lens offering from Swanwick Sleep that, you’ve guessed it, are designed for use after dark.

They feature more of an orange tint to them, suggesting that they do let in a bit more blue light than the TrueDark versions, which are a much darker red color.

The Night Swannies have a dark orange tint to them, and the website says that they can also be used during the day if you are, for example, using a computer for a prolonged period.

It’s interesting (and a tad disappointing) that Swanwick Sleep do not seem to explicitly reveal the exact amount of blue light that is filtered out by their glasses on the official website.

We think that this is often an overlooked feature of blue light glasses. If you’re going to commit to wearing them before bed on a regular basis, then you’ll want to have some glasses that you actually feel comfortable wearing and that you won’t be afraid to wear out and about from time to time.

At the time of writing, there is only one option when it comes to the frame styles of the TrueDark Twilight Elite.

They feature a very high quality premium frame that is made from aircraft grade aluminum, and the whole product itself certainly has a premium feel to it overall.

The hinges feature springs, which is a nice feature, and overall we were highly impressed by the Twilight Elite product quality.

However, we were a bit disappointed that there were not more options available when it comes to the styles on offer.

Night Swannies

We were pleased to find an impressive range of different styles on sale when it comes to the Night Swannies.

There are lots of high quality lenses on offer and they are all seemingly of high quality.

This is where the Swannies brand really comes into its own as it offers a really good range of different styles.

Importantly, the Swannies website also provides a fit guide, so that you can properly make sure that you can find a product that suits you.

At the time of writing, the TrueDark Twilight Elites had an average rating of 4.7 out of 5 stars on Amazon.

One happy customer left a five-star review and said that they helped them with their sleep after wearing them around an hour before bed.
