Women’s Best Pre Workout Booster – The Basics
As we have already covered, the Pre Workout Booster is a vegan-friendly pre workout supplement made by Women’s Best, which is designed to help support your gym and exercise goals.
You probably already know this, but pre workout supplements are products which are formulated to be consumed before exercise, and contain a range of different ingredients, each of which may bring a potential benefit.
Women’s Best is a Europe-based brand currently headquartered in Austria, and they sell their female-focused products to lots of countries across the world. They are one of the biggest names in the health and fitness space when it comes to female-focused supplements and products.
The Pre Workout Booster comes in a powdered form in a tub. As is the case with most pre workouts, you mix the powder with some water and drink it before starting your exercise session.
At the time of writing, this supplement was available in six different flavours. We tried out the Tropical Punch flavour. The full list of flavours currently on offer are:
• Sour Peach Candy
• Sour Lemon Lime
• Watermelon Mint
• Orange Mango Dream
• Crazy Fruits – Mixed Berry
• Tropical Punch (The one we tried)
The product description on the official Women’s Best website, at the time of writing, said that this supplement provides a “super pre-workout power boost” to help you get through some intense training sessions.
As is the case with most pre workout supplements, this product contains a small dose of the stimulant Caffeine. We’ll cover the ingredients in a bit more detail below.
The label on the tub we bought said that the supplement was gluten free, lactose free and suitable for Vegans. Our tub was 300g and contained 30 servings. The label also said that this supplement is both “naturally and artificially flavoured”.
According to the nutritional information on the label of the product we tried, each 10g scoop contains just under 19 calories in total, with 0.1 grams of sugar and just 1.8 total carbohydrate. These numbers may vary based on the flavour you choose, so be sure to carefully check the label.
So, now that we’ve covered the basic points about the Women’s Best Pre Workout Booster, it’s time to start taking a closer look at the actual ingredients label.
Let’s start off by looking at the active ingredients of the Women’s Best Pre Workout Booster, as shown on the label of the product we tried:
• L-Arginine Alpha-Ketoglutarate
• Creatine Monohydrate
• L-Citrulline Malate
• Sodium Hydrogen Carbonate
As you can see for yourself from this list, the Pre Workout Booster contains a lot of the common ingredients you’d expect to find in a pre workout supplement.
Among them is Creatine, which you have probably already come across before in fitness supplements. Creatine is a very widely-researched ingredients which is common as both a pre and post workout supplement.
The other main ingredient that stands out on the list to us is the old favourite Caffeine. You probably already know that Caffeine is one of the most widely-consumed stimulants on the planet. Each 10g scoop of Women’s Best Pre Workout contains 100mg of Caffeine. That’s about the same amount you’d expect to find in a strong cup of coffee.
Because of the Caffeine content in this supplement, it’s probably best not to consume this product too close to bedtime, and it’s important to keep track of your total Caffeine intake from other sources to make sure that you’re not overdoing it.
Another ingredient on the list is L-Citrulline Malate, which is a form of an amino acid commonly found in watermelons. L-Citrulline is a common pre workout supplement and it’s good to see it on the list.
Other ingredients in the formula include L-Tyrosine, an amino acid, and L-Arginine Alpha-Ketoglutarate, another common pre workout ingredient.
It’s worth noting that this supplement uses the sweetener Sucralose to help with the flavour.
One thing we noticed was that this supplement doesn’t seem to include any vitamins and minerals as ingredients, despite them being common additions to other similar products.
Firstly, we found that the Women’s Best Pre Workout Booster mixed really well into water. In fact, we didn’t even need to stir or shake it very much, as the powder simply dissolved and fizzed into our glass of water.
As mentioned above, we were trying out the ‘Tropical Punch’ flavour. It had a nice, sweet taste to it, and we could certainly find hints of the ‘tropical’ fruits in there.
It did have something of a ‘synthetic’ aftertaste, but this is often the case with supplements like this. All in all, it came across as a pretty good-tasting supplement.
Price and Where To Buy
At the time of writing, one 300g tub of Women’s Best Pre Workout Booster costs around £29 / $39 / €34. It’s worth checking the price on the official website in your region as it can change from time to time.
Each tub contains 30 servings if you stick to the 10g scoop-per-serving directions.
It’s available to buy on the official Women’s Best website and also in some stores and elsewhere online. For example, in the UK, you can buy it from high-street retailers such as Boots and Holland and Barrett.
To err on the side of caution, we always think it’s best to speak to your doctor or a certified medical professional before taking a new supplement.
The main thing to note when it comes to this product is the Caffeine content. Each 10g scoop contains 100mg of Caffeine, which is about the same amount you’ll find in a strong cup of coffee.
As mentioned above, it’s likely best not to take this pre workout supplement too close to bedtime. It’s also worth keeping a note of your total Caffeine intake from all sources to check that you are not consuming too much.
There is a warning on the label saying that you should not use this supplement if you are allergic to any of its ingredients.
The label also says that you should speak to your doctor or a certified medical professional before taking this supplement if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or are taking any prescription medicines.
There is also a warning saying that you should not take more than two servings a day.
How To Take It
Each tub of Women’s Best Pre Workout Booster contains 300g, which is the equivalent of 30 10g scoops.
The directions on the label for Women’s Best Pre Workout Booster are fairly straightforward.
They say that you should take either one 10g scoop with 400ml of water, or two 10g scoops with 800ml of water – both 15 to 30 minutes before starting your exercise session or training.
As we mentioned above, there is a warning on the label saying not to consume more than two servings per day. Presumably, this means do not take more than 20g a day in total.
Women’s Best Pre Workout Booster Reviews
We took a look on the official Women’s Best website to see what people were saying about this supplement.
At the time of writing, the official site reported 2,127 reviews of the supplement, with an average rating of 4.5 out of five stars.
The feedback we found on the official site seemed to be largely positive, but this is probably not too much of a surprise given that they are on the manufacturer’s website.
We also took a look on the Holland and Barrett website in the UK. There, it had an average rating of 3.8 out of five stars from six reviews at the time of writing.
Pros and Cons
Let’s now weigh up some of the pros and cons of this supplement.
• A popular brand
• Nice tasting flavour
• Mixes into water incredibly well
• Doesn’t include any vitamins or minerals as ingredients
• Uses Sucralose as a sweetener
• Has a little bit of a synthetic aftertaste
Anything Else To Consider?
As we have already mentioned in this article, food supplements are not supposed to be used as a substitute for a varied diet and healthy lifestyle.
Products like this one can help to give you a boost when training, but it’s more important that you’re sticking to a healthy diet and solid training regimen before thinking about a supplement.
As always, we recommend that you speak to a doctor or certified medical professional before taking any new supplement.
This supplement contains 100mg of Caffeine per 10g scoop, so if you are sensitive to stimulants, this may be an issue.
Remember, while it can be easy to get caught up in marketing hype about pre workout supplements, you’ll still have to put in the hard work yourself in the gym to see the results you’re after.
Conclusion – Our Final Thoughts
That brings us to the end of our detailed look at the Women’s Best Pre Workout Booster.
It’s a female-focused pre workout supplement which provides a list of common ingredients including Caffeine, Creatine and L-Citrulline to support you through your workouts.
We found that it tasted pretty good, and mixed really easily into water. This made consuming it a largely pleasant experience. The slight downside when it comes to taste is that we noticed that it had something of a synthetic aftertaste.
