Gearing up for his biggest test to date, Khamzat Chimaev’s training regimes have been leaked ahead of UFC 319.

Set to headline the promotion’s return to Chicago, unbeaten middleweight star, Chimaev will challenge for gold for the first time.

Taking on rival Dricus du Plessis, Chechen star Chimaev puts his unbeaten record on the line in his bid to win the title.

Best known for his relentless grappling and wrestling, when it comes to preparation, Chimaev is largely unmatched as far as his training partners are concerned.

And it seems, most of the time, it’s to their expense.

Arman Tsarukyan gushes over Khamzat Chimaev’s training regime during UFC fight camps

Himself a talented grappling force at lightweight, Tsarukyan has spent time on the mats with Chimaev in the past.

And as Tsarukyan looks to land his own title fight, it seems the Armenian could not have a better training partner in mind than the Chechen.

But for much of their sessions, Tsarukyan admits he largely plays the role of a red rag to a bull.

“He (Khamzat Chimaev) doesn’t care if you’re lighter than him by more than 25lbs,” Tsarukyan told ESPN MMA. “He just goes hard with everybody.

“It’s good for me,” Tsarukyan continued. “I get a lot of experience, and I feel if I can wrestle with him, I can wrestle with anybody.”

And finally set to compete for the middleweight crown, Chimaev has passed arguably the biggest hurdle to entry to the UFC 319 headliner already.

Khamzat Chimaev returns to United States for title fight clash

Training exclusively in the Middle East in recent years, Chimaev has not competed in North America in the last three years.

But finally jetting into Los Angeles for his August return, Chimaev touched down Stateside for his UFC 319 headliner, amid some recent concern from fans.

But given his laundry list of failed pairings in his UFC run, Chimaev’s inclusion in the August headliner is still some cause of concern for the Octagon leader.

As such, UFC Paris main event star Nassourdine Imavov is on hand to serve as a back-up to the title fight with du Plessis.
