At UFC 317, Ilia Topuria delivered another remarkable performance to remain undefeated.

The UFC’s lightweight division has a new champion after Topuria stopped Charles Oliveira in the first round.

While some argued that Oliveira would still be incredibly dangerous as the underdog, like many expected, the power and boxing of ‘El Matador’ was too much for him to deal with.

The rising star has now produced three knockouts in a row over legends of the sport after adding ‘Do Bronx’ to his win streak that also includes Alexander Volkanovski and Max Holloway.

Merab Dvalishvili, who is the UFC’s dominant bantamweight champion, was in attendance on Saturday night to support his fellow Georgian where he ended up capturing a spectacular moment.

In a video posted on social media, Merab Dvalishvili shared a moment with Ilia Topuria’s son Hugo while they were backstage at the event.

Topuria’s boxing has been highly praised for some time and once again, it was the devastating power in his hands that made the difference as he dropped Charles Oliveira with a slick combination before the referee stepped in.

While Dana White was asked at the post-fight press conference whether the undefeated star is the pound-for-pound hardest hitter we’ve seen in the UFC, Dvalishvili was preoccupied.

‘The Machine’ asked Topuria’s son to show him how his father knocked out Oliveira, taking the UFC lightweight title off of him for a full demonstration.

Topuria’s son doesn’t just unleash a boxing combination, he follows it up with the final strikes that ended the bout, before even replicating his father’s celebration.

Ilia Topuria reveals criticism from his son immediately after his lightweight title win

When speaking to the media at the post-fight press conference, Ilia Topuria spoke about having his son with him throughout fight week and at UFC 317 itself.

The new UFC lightweight champion asked the media whether they wanted to know what the first thing his son told him was when he made his way out of the Octagon.

It turns out that his son isn’t just able to replicate the actions of ‘El Matador’, he’s got some advice for him as well.

“Do you know the first thing he told me when I came out from the Octagon? ‘Why do you connect the right punch like this and you didn’t do the uppercut?’ And I’m like, ‘Oh, okay. The next time we will try it.'”

If fight fans see Topuria catch Paddy Pimblett, who appears to be his next opponent, with a right uppercut, you now know who deserves the credit.
