Patchy Mix is one of the UFC’s latest high-profile signings after Mix requested his release from the PFL.
After PFL acquired Bellator in 2023 this acquisition left a lot of the roster in limbo as to what was going to next in their careers.
Many fighters voiced their frustrations with the PFL and that they were being put on the sidelines when they could be fighting.
Most notably, Patricio Pitbull and Patchy Mix voiced their concerns on social media numerous times, calling out the PFL for their treatment of them.
This has led to the PFL having to release certain fighters from their contracts and has allowed the UFC to sign some big marquee names for the promotion, including Mix, who isn’t short of confidence ahead of UFC 316.
Patchy Mix claims he is ‘one of the most hyped’ signings in UFC history
During the UFC 316 media day Mix was oozing with confidence during the entire day and it was obvious he was ready to fight.
He boldly claimed that he is one of the most hyped signings in the entire history of the UFC.
Mix said, “I feel like I’m one of the most hyped prospects to ever have come over. Maybe if the promotion didn’t sell and all that stuff, I don’t know if I would’ve been able to out to come over. I guess everything just worked out for a reason.
“I belong in the UFC. I am among if not, I truly, full-heartedly believe I’m the best bantamweight in the world, and I need to be in the UFC to prove that.”
Mix boasts an impressive MMA record of 20-1 as he makes his UFC debut vs Mario Bautista at UFC 316.
The former Bellator man has long been considered to be one of the best fighters outside of the UFC, and fans believed it was only a matter of time before he made it to the UFC.
The fight vs Bautista has its rightful spot on the main card of UFC 316, and Mix has a massive opportunity to showcase himself and his abilities to UFC fans.

Mix is jumping straight into the top 10 of the UFC’s bantamweight division and will be looking to take Bautista’s No. 10 spot in the rankings.

The headliner for UFC 316 is a bantamweight title fight between Merab Dvalishvili and Sean O’Malley.
The current champion Dvalishvili has said that he welcomes a fight with the newcomer Mix and that he is a longtime friend of his.
Dvalishvili said, “Patchy Mix is a great fighter. Yes, we’re training a lot together. He is one of the best and I respect him. I’m happy for him he’s in the UFC right now.
It’s not the same as it was between me and Aljo. If the time comes, we will fight each other. It’s nothing personal. He’s fighting for his family, I’m fighting for my family and my team. That’s all good. I wish him good luck in his fight and hopefully I’m going to win this fight against Sean O’Malley and we’ll see from there.”
Both Mix and Bautista will have a close eye on that title fight as they both look to state their claims as to why they should be next in line for a title shot.
