Giannis Antetokounmpo has one big question to ask the Milwaukee Bucks during his conversations about his future, according to NBA Insider Shams Charania.

Antetokounmpo is considering leaving Milwaukee, according to reports. It’s an ongoing saga, with reports of the superstar’s unhappiness first emerging in May, but  Antetokounmpo is still undecided on his future, says Charania.

It is reported that the two-time MVP has been having ongoing conversations with the Bucks, and he has one major question while deciding on whether to leave the city Antetokounmpo calls home.

Giannis Antetokounmpo’s big question to the Milwaukee Bucks

Charania, speaking on ESPN’s Get Up, reported on Antetokounmpo’s mindset over the summer.

He said, “Sources tell me there’s still nothing set in stone about whether Giannis Antetokounmpo will stay in Milwaukee or whether he will be leaving.

“He’s continuing to evaluate his future. I reported in mid-May that he’s evaluating whether his best fit is in Milwaukee or elsewhere. That process is continuing. There have been some very real conversations over the last week or so.

“The constant question that Giannis has is, ‘Can I win a championship with this roster?’ This roster is going to be one for this upcoming year and 2026-27. He wants to win a second championship, and he’s asking that question over and over.”

The Bucks signed Myles Turner and waived Damian Lillard in a desperate attempt to position themselves to win a championship.

Antetokounmpo loves Milwaukee and is inclined to stay, but the Bucks’ attempts to win a championship in the upcoming season have affected their long-term prospects.

NBA reporter Ramona Shelbourne weighed in on the situation, saying Milwaukee have done all they can to keep their superstar. She said, “Giannis has said a lot this summer, and Giannis has said everything to encourage Milwaukee.

“He’s been very encouraging towards the city. They made that remarkable move for Myles Turner, which could go down as one of the best or worst moves we’ve seen in a long time, because of how much they’ll have to pay in dead money after waiving Dame.”

Milwaukee owes Lillard $112.5 million over the next two seasons, crippling their cap space.

Shelbourne thinks that if Charania’s report is to be believed, the Bucks should be worried.

She continued, “If he’s still undecided, that’s troubling for them. I know their stance. Why would you ever trade Giannis unless he asks to be traded? You would never do that. He’s one of the best players in the world, if not the best player in the world.

“If he’s still in the spot where he’s evaluating, I don’t like to hear that.”

The East is wide open this season, Jayson Tatum is likely out for the season, as is Tyrese Haliburton of the NBA Finalist Indiana Pacers. Both suffered Achilles tears in the playoffs.

They have the best player in the conference, so they should have every opportunity to win the East. If Antetokounmpo can carry the team to his second Finals, that may tip the scales in the Bucks’ favour.
