Dan Evans has made a heartfelt plea to Wimbledon after making it through his first-round match at SW19.
Evans won an all-British affair against Jay Clarke to confirm his place in the second round of Wimbledon against either Novak Djokovic or Alexandre Muller.
The former World No. 21 is no stranger to his home tournament, having reached the third round on three separate occasions.
Ahead of a potential second-round meeting with 24-time Grand Slam champion Djokovic, the Brit has made a request to the All England Club.

Daniel Evans is hoping to play Novak Djokovic on Centre Court
Evans is desperate to play Djokovic as it would likely mean the star will play on Centre Court in what could be his last-ever Wimbledon match.
“I would love it to be on Centre [Court],” he said in his post-match interview with the BBC after his straight sets win.
“That’s it, that’s all I ask. Just to get a chance to play him,” said the British star who has made the second-round for the first time in four years.

“I have played him before and it would be really nice to play Novak, who if he won’t mind me saying is at the latter end of his career.”
Evans and Djokovic have only played once, which surprisingly went the way of the Brit at Monte Carlo in 2021.
Dan Evans accused of ‘dark arts’ during Wimbledon win
Despite being an all-British affair, tempers spilled over in Evans’ first-round match with World No. 199 Clarke.
Clarke was unhappy with the time Evans was taking between serves and made his feelings clear to the umpire.
It led BBC commentator Dom Inglot to call out Evans’ use of ‘dark arts’ during the broadcast of the match.
“Dan Evans is a master of the dark arts, let’s say, and he’s used them extremely well there,” said Inglot during Clarke’s complaints.
Evans won the match 6-1, 7-5, 6-2 in straightforward fashion against his British counterpart.
