Cameron Norrie has been one of the stories of Wimbledon 2025, with the World No. 61 making it all the way to the last eight.

The British star has stunned Frances Tiafoe, Nicolas Jarry, and Mattia Bellucci to reach his first Wimbledon quarter-final since 2022.

Norrie has earned a daunting quarter-final clash with World No. 2 Carlos Alcaraz on July 8 for a chance to make it to his second Wimbledon semi-final.

The Brit has already defeated Alcaraz on two occasions, and he named two attributes in which he was better than the Spaniard after defeating him at the Cincinnati Open in 2022.

Cameron Norrie said physicality was better than Carlos Alcaraz’s in 2022

Norrie picked up his first win over Alcaraz back in 2022 in the quarter-finals of the ATP Masters 1000 Cincinnati.

The Brit defeated the then-teenager in three sets to secure a place in the final four and he outlined where he was better than the Spaniard after the match.

“I just wanted to hang tough with him and I think the only place I had him better was the legs and the physicality,” Norrie explained in his post-match interview.

He continued: “So I was just trying to make every rally as physical as I could and make it tough for him to finish points.”

Norrie and Alcaraz have met six times across their careers, with their last meeting coming at the Rio Open in 2023.

Unsurprisingly, Alcaraz leads Norrie in their head-to-head with four wins from their six matches together.

Alcaraz won his first three matches against Norrie, picking up victories at the US Open, Indian Wells, and the Madrid Open.

Norrie’s win in Cincinnati was followed up by another win in the final of the Rio Open as the British star shocked the Spaniard on the clay.

Alcaraz’s only other win against Norrie came on the surface as he beat the Brit in the final of the Buenos Aires.
