Carlos Alcaraz has plenty of reasons to celebrate after capturing his fifth Grand Slam title at Roland Garros.

The Spaniard produced an inspired comeback against Jannik Sinner to come from two sets down on the Paris clay at Roland Garros

Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner stunned pundits with a five-set classic, which lasted five hours and 29 minutes.

Carlos Alcaraz earned £2.3m by winning Roland Garros as the star captured his first Grand Slam since 2024’s Wimbledon.

With his lucrative bonus, Carlos Alcaraz usurped a legendary tennis icon in all-time career earnings as he climbed the rankings.

Carlos Alcaraz has earned more prize money than Pete Sampras after Roland Garros win

The 2025 Roland Garros champion now sits, astonishingly, at number seven on all-time prize money above some huge names from tennis’ past.

The 22-year-old passed tennis icon Pete Sampras’ $43,280,489 prize money haul after defeating Sinner in Paris, despite the US legend holding nine more Grand Slam trophies than the Spaniard.

The French Open champion took his earnings up to a remarkable $44.7 million after Roland Garros win, according to Sportico

Alcaraz has won five Grand Slams since his inaugural win at the US Open in 2022, with two Wimbledon crowns, and a pair of Roland Garros titles also to his name.

The World No. 2 has also won seven ATP 1000 tournaments, but hasn’t held the top spot in the rankings since September 2022.

Who is above Carlos Alcaraz in career earnings?

Unsurprisingly, Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer, and Andy Murray top the list for most career earnings.

The iconic quartet dominated tennis for nearly two decades, winning 69 Grand Slam trophies between them.

Following them are two of the new breed of tennis players, Alexander Zverev and Daniil Medvedev, with just one Grand Slam between them.

Medvedev’s solitary Grand Slam crown came at the US Open in 2021, when he defeated Djokovic in the final.
