Emma Raducanu has hit a rich vein of form ahead of the US Open, and she’s being dutifully rewarded.
Raducanu defeated Naomi Osaka and Maria Sakkari in Washington on her way to the semi-finals of the competition.
That dovetailed with Raducanu’s run with Elena Rybakina in the doubles, which saw the former Grand Slam winners reach the final four.
Raducanu’s three wins at the Washington Open have seen the British star reach an impressive career milestone.

Emma Raducanu has more 2025 wins than in any other career year
Raducanu is on the hunt for a seeded entry at the US Open, which should earn her a more favourable draw in the early stages of the final Grand Slam of the year.
The British star’s run at the Washington Open has helped her climb up the rankings to World No. 33 ahead of the National Bank Open in Montreal.
Raducanu also reached another career milestone at Washington, which is the perfect encapsulation of the 22-year-old’s return to the elite game.
The Brit’s win against Sakkari in the quarterfinals of Washington was her 21st win in 2025, more than the star has ever achieved in a calendar year before.
Raducanu’s previous best was 20 wins in 2024, not including team events, such as Davis Cup or Billie Jean King Cup.
What does Emma Raducanu need to do to get a seed for the US Open?
The top 32 players in the WTA Rankings earn seeded entry for the US Open, meaning they can not play each other in the early stages.
Raducanu’s current ranking of World No. 33 would actually be enough to earn a seed at the US Open already, with World No. 6 Qinwen Zheng ruled out by injury.
The Brit will be hoping to fully cement her place in the top 32 after the Canadian Open in Montreal, however.
The star plays Elena-Gabriela Ruse in the first round, with a win setting up a match against Peyton Stearns next.
Raducanu has never lost to either player, having beaten Ruse in Auckland and Stearns in Seoul, both in 2024.
