Fans joke about not being able to see John Cena at Wimbledon

Wimbledon’s official X account made a subtle joke about John Cena’s famous catchphrase: “You can’t see me.”

They wrote on social media: “It’s great to see you at Wimbledon, John Cena” with a winking eye emoji.

“If you can see him. He isn’t John Cena!” said one fan on social media and they were not alone in making the joke.

“I don’t see anything,” joked another while one asked: “Why can’t I see anyone in this video?”

Cena came up with his popular catchphrase during the early days of his WWE career in the early 2000s as he became one of the biggest stars in wrestling.

It started an online meme between fans which still lingers on to this day, who suggested the star was invisible.

Cena’s shocking heel turn during his retirement tour referenced the long-time fans’ joke, with the 17-time World Champion suggesting it angered him.

Which other celebrities have been at Wimbledon 2025?

Celebrities in the crowd have long been a staple part of the UK’s biggest tennis tournament, and several high-profile names have flocked to the event in 2025.

Former England manager Gareth Southgate and football legend David Beckham were in attendance during the opening day of play on June 30.

They watched as Carlos Alcaraz struggled to a five-set victory over Italian veteran Fabio Fognini in the opening game on Centre Court.

Elsewhere, actresses Cate Blanchett and Rebel Wilson watched Jack Draper’s performance against Sebastian Baez on July 1.
