Aryna Sabalenka won the US Open by defeating Amanda Anisimova in straight sets at Flushing Meadows, but fans have criticised her celebrations.
Sabalenka is the first back-to-back US Open champion since 2014, after Serena Williams achieved the feat.

The dominant champion impressed at Flushing Meadows, but she’s received backlash for the way she celebrated the win.

Aryna Sabalenka’s US Open champagne celebrations slammed by fans
Sabalenka was captured popping champagne in the locker rooms with her team after the final win, in what appears to be an advert for Moet.

Another said: “I’m not a fan of this. They should have had the judgement not to publish this,” while one wrote: “
“Oh dear, waste and excess are not a flex,” said another disappointed fan on social media before adding: “Cringe.”
Sabalenka’s US Open title win was her fourth Grand Slam success, following two Australian Open victories in 2023 and 2024, and last year’s triumph at Flushing Meadows.
