Dan Evans has defeated Frances Tiafoe at Queen’s Club Championship 2025 at the Andy Murray Arena.
Dan Evans is one of five British tennis stars at Queens 2025 and not one of the initial favourites, but he may very well be now.
His win over world No. 7 Frances Tiafoe will be one of the shocks of the round of 32, but you can’t say the 35-year-old didn’t deserve it.
Tennis fans were quick to acknowledge this and pile on praise on Evans as they watched him battle valiantly at Queen’s Club, but also mock Tiafoe for his less-than-mediocre showing.

Supporters simply couldn’t believe what they were seeing from Evans.
One wrote: ‘Dan Evans does nothing all year and then turns up on grass. You love to see it!’
Another adds: ‘Dan Evans is electric today’.
‘Wild card and now ranked 199 Dan Evans is destroying the seeded Frances Tiafoe in the first round of Queens, the best I’ve seen Dan play in a long time!’ one more put.

But just as Evans was praised, Tiafoe was mocked. The American was extremely underwhelming, and that was noted by tennis fans.
A first put: ‘Tiafoe getting the floor wiped with him by a guy that looks more like a darts player than a tennis player.’
‘Anyone watching this Tiafoe match? The dude hasn’t played any offensive shots all match. No winners, just putting the ball back over the net’, another adds.
Some even suggested that Tiafoe should go as far as to retire. An exaggeration of course.
