Iga Swiatek’s US Open campaign has continued her history-making run in the sport.

The World No. 2 swiftly dispatched Emiliana Arango in straight sets to earn her place in the second round of the US Open.

Swiatek won the US Open in 2022, and the Polish star is looking to capture her sixth Grand Slam at Flushing Meadows.

The win meant Swiatek knocked off Monica Seles’ record of consecutive WTA singles wins in the first round of a Grand Slam – but that’s far from the only record Swiatek holds in the sport.

Iga Swiatek’s other six records in tennis

The Polish star should be used to breaking records now as she’s notched up several in her first few years on the tour.

Swiatek’s record-breaking run dates back to 2022 when she earned the longest winning streak in the 21st Century, with 37 wins in a row.

The Polish star also holds several Grand Slam records too, including the first star to win the first seven major finals she appeared in.

Swiatek also earned a stunning record with her latest inaugural win at Wimbledon in 2025 when she double-bageled Amanda Anisimova in the final.

The star was also the youngest player to win a fourth Roland Garros, and won the Qatar Open with the fewest games lost.

Iga Swiatek’s projected route through the US Open

Swiatek is next in action against Dutch star Suzan Lamens in the second round of the US Open, who is currently ranked World No. 58.

The Polish star’s third round match will likely be against Anna Kalinskaya, while the fourth round will probably see her play Ekaterina Alexandrova.

A Wimbledon final rematch against Anisimova could be the Polish star’s quarter-final match-up as the star looks to win her second US Open crown.

The semi-final will likely see Swiatek play a hometown hero as a potential match with Coco Gauff is on the cards.
