Novak Djokovic is one of the most successful tennis stars in the history of the sport, but he’s still achieving new things in the twilight of his career.

The 24-time Grand Slam champion is still performing at the highest level at the age of 38 at Wimbledon.

Djokovic feels he has a huge chance to win Wimbledon and he’s made a solid start to life at the London tournament.

The star’s win over Dan Evans helped him break new ground in his celebrated two-decade-plus career in tennis.

Novak Djokovic defeats Dan Evans for the first time at Wimbledon

Djokovic was wary of playing Dan Evans at Wimbledon before their second round clash on Centre Court – and for good reason.

The Serbian had never beaten the current World No. 154 with their sole meeting coming on the clay at Monte Carlo in 2021.

Evans, who has achieved an ATP Tour highest ranking of World No. 21 in 2023, swept aside the Serbian in straight sets.

The Briton defeated the 24-time Grand Slam champion 6-4 7-5 on the French clay to reach the quarterfinals of the competition.

Djokovic’s straight sets victory at Wimbledon not only secured the World No. 6’s place in the third round, it also cleaned up a dark mark on his normally impeccable record.

Who does Novak Djokovic play at Wimbledon next?

The Serbian set up a third round clash with his fellow countryman Miomir Kecmanović after sweeping aside Evans.

Unlike with Evans, Djokovic has a flawless record against his compatriot, defeating Kecmanović in all three of their meetings.

That includes a straight sets victory against Kecmanović at the 2022 Wimbledon, which Djokovic would go on to win.

The World No. 6 will be hoping the all-Serbian tie will provide a good omen for the star looking to break yet more ground with his 25th Grand Slam title.
