Novak Djokovic inflicted an 11th straight loss on Taylor Fritz at the US Open, but it’s far from the longest losing streak in tennis history.

Djokovic is on the hunt for another US Open trophy, having won the Flushing Meadows tournament on four occasions.

The Serbian defeated the American on his home soil, dispatching the World No. 4 in an entertaining four set match.

Djokovic’s win streak over Fritz might be lengthy, but Roger Federer holds four winning streaks longer than the 11-straight wins.

Roger Federer’s longest winning streaks in tennis

Federer dominated the ATP Tour for much of his career, but four stars in particular felt the wrath of the Swiss superstar.

David Ferrer, who was a former World No. 3, had no answers for Federer as he lost 16 straight matches to the star.

Two-time US Open semi-finalist Mikhail Youzhny, who had a career high ranking of World No. 8, also couldn’t get the best of Federer in 16 matches.

Feliciano Lopez12-0
Robin Soderling12-0

Robin Soderling, who also featured in the top five of the rankings, lost to Federer sixteen times overall, including 12 matches in a row.

The same can be said for multi-time Grand Slam quarter-finalist Feliciano Lopez, who suffered the same amount of losses as Soderling.

What are the other longest winning streaks in tennis?

Federer and Djokovic are not alone in racking up incredible win streaks against impressive players on the tour.

Rafael Nadal defeated Richard Gasquet in 14 consecutive matches, while Bjorn Borg beat Vitas Gerulaitis 16 times in a row.

On the women’s side of the game, Serena Williams defeated Maria Sharapova in 18 straight clashes, and Steffi Graf beat Nathalie Tauziat in all 21 matches they played.

Djokovic has a long way to go against Fritz to earn the outright record for most consecutive wins against a player.
