Emma Raducanu and Katie Boulter made their doubles debut at Queen’s Club, but fans were unable to enjoy the spectacle in the UK.

The pair, who have been dubbed ‘Boulter-canu’, made light work of F.H. Wu and X.Y. Jiang in a straight sets victory.

While the BBC are broadcasting the action from the newly-named Andy Murray Arena, the other courts remain untelevised.

As Emma Raducanu and Boulter picked up an impressive victory on their debut, fans were furious they were unable to watch the action.

Fans furious as Emma Raducanu’s Queen’s Club match is untelevised by BBC

Both Boulter and Raducanu were looking to bounce back from early exits at Roland Garros in Paris at the end of May.

Boulter crashed out at the hands of Madison Keys, while Emma Raducanu was dismantled by World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka.

With both women in singles action at Queen’s on June 10, they were looking to find some sharpness in their newly formed doubles outfit.

The pair dominated their opponents, but fans in the UK were unable to tune in and they were more than a little bemused.

“Why is it that Emma Raducanu and Katie Boulter match is not being shown on BBC iPlayer?” asked one dissatisfied fan.

“Two of our most popular ladies of tennis are playing together for the first time, and the BBC aren’t showing it,” said another.

Another disgruntled viewer wrote: “Not even showing it… Good Job BBC!”, while one said: “Advertise it then don’t show it, good job BBC.”

Raducanu begins her singles campaign at Queen’s against World No. 56 Cristina Bucșa, while Boulter will play Australian Ajla Tomljanović.

Boulter and Raducanu’s doubles opponents are yet to be confirmed, but they could be lining up against fellow Brits Jodie Burrage and Sonay Kartal.

Burrage and Kartal play Lyudmyla Kichenok and Erin Routliffe in their opening round match at the London event.

Emma Raducanu opens up about the expense of tennis

Raducanu’s fortunes have changed dramatically since she shocked the world by winning the US Open at the age of 17 in 2021.

The star has struggled with injury, coaches, and form since beginning her career at the top and she’s currently in the process of changing her fortunes around with coach Mark Petchey.

The star has opened up about the expense of running a highly successful tennis team, but she’s also claimed money is not at the forefront of her mind when playing tennis.

“Of course I need to sustain my team which is extremely expensive,” said Raducanu to Sky News. “It is a very expensive sport, but it’s not my main motivator of why I play.”

Raducanu is expected to play several grass-court tournaments ahead of Wimbledon, which begins on June 30.
