Novak Djokovic made light work of Dan Evans in the second round of Wimbledon on Centre Court.
The World No. 6 proved why he’s one of the favourites of the tournament as he raced to a straight sets victory over the World No. 154.
Djokovic expressed worry about Dan Evans ahead of their Wimbledon clash, but everything went to plan for the Serbian.
In fact, the 24-time Grand Slam winner was so good, one aspect of his game left Tim Henman in complete shock.
Tim Henman floored by Novak Djokovic’s serve at Wimbledon
Speaking on BBC commentary during Djokovic’s match with the Briton, former British No. 1 Tim Henman couldn’t believe how good the Serbian’s serve was.
“Novak Djokovic doesn’t want to waste any unnecessary energy,” explained the former Grand Slam semi-finalist.
“His serving has just been absolutely remarkable,” continued Henman, before adding later in the match: “It’s just a serving masterclass.”
Djokovic’s supreme serving will surely strike fear into his biggest rivals for the tournament, Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz.
Djokovic plays compatriot Miomir Kecmanović in the third round of Wimbledon, a player who the Serbian previously knocked out on his way to the championship in 2022.
How far can Novak Djokovic go at Wimbledon?
While his first two round opponents are not the biggest indicator of what Djokovic can achieve at Wimbledon, this is arguably the best the star has looked all year.
Aside from his struggle to convert break points, Djokovic has been in full control against Evans and Alexandre Muller at the London event.
He should make easy work of Kecmanović, too, and it’ll be when he comes up against a potential Jack Draper where the questions will be asked.
For now, though, Djokovic is proving why he’s one of the favourites for the competition and there’s every chance he upsets the current top four.
