It’s no surprise Chris Jericho reportedly wants to return to WWE as he was once paid an eye-watering $100,000 for a four-minute match.
There have been reports linking Jericho back to WWE after his six year stint in AEW, as Y2J’s contract is reportedly up at the end of 2025.
The WWE legend liked a social media post on Instagram about his return to the company where he first made his name.
It’s no surprise the star wants a return to WWE after the star made thousands from the company before his AEW stint.

Chris Jericho was paid $100,000 for WWE’s Greatest Royal Rumble
Jericho appeared as the final entrant in the Greatest Royal Rumble in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia and he was reportedly paid $100,000 for the role according to Wrestling Observer Online.
Y2J appeared in the match for just over three minutes, meaning it was an incredibly lucrative payday for the star.
“I literally was laughing,” said Jericho in an interview with Inside the Ropes about his 03:18 appearance in the Greatest Royal Rumble.
That match featured 50 wrestlers and featured several wrestlers making mistakes, which pleased Jericho even more.
“A: watching some of the guys f— up their spots, and B: – once again, how much money are they getting paid that they paid me to be in this thing to basically do nothing? Whatever,” he said.
The 2018 match was won by Braun Strowman and also featured Bryan Danielson, Rey Mysterio, and Kurt Angle.
What’s left to do in WWE for Chris Jericho?
Jericho has achieved everything there is to do inside a WWE ring and it’s very unlikely he’ll ever hold a World Championship again.
If the star does return to WWE, a couple of high-profile WWE matches against younger stars would be the best role for Y2J.
The star being rewarded for his outstanding career with a long overdue induction into the WWE Hall of Fame would be fitting for the star.
Whether Jericho would be happy to settle for that role is another question, however, as the star has continued to dismiss retirement claims.
