WWE Raw in Green Bay, Wisconsin provided some incredible insights into the direction of the company over the next few months.
Two huge returns took place, including WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg, who finally confirmed his retirement match.
Elsewhere, two major championship matches were announced, with another match joining CM Punk vs John Cena and Night of Champions, and the King of the Ring tournament steamed ahead.
Here are five things we learned from WWE Raw on June 16.

Goldberg returns to confront Gunther
After months of anticipation, Goldberg finally returned to WWE to kickstart his final programme for his retirement match.
The WWE Hall of Famer confirmed at the beginning of 2025 that he was preparing for his final match, and many expected it to be against Gunther after their altercation at Bad Blood last October.
That is the case as the WCW legend confronted the brand-new World Heavyweight Champion and called him out for a match at Saturday Night’s Main Event on July 12.
It has to be said, the 58-year-old did not appear to be in the best shape. He awkwardly walked to the ring and he struggled to make his way to the top rope to strike a pose.
The jury is out whether Goldberg is ready for his retirement match at all.
LA Knight, Penta, and Sami Zayn help Jey Uso win
The main event saw Jey Uso, Bronson Reed, Sheamus, and Rusev collide for a spot in the semi-finals of the King of the Ring.
It was a hard-hitting affair, which saw Rusev and Sheamus cancel each other out and leaving the big man and Uso.
Reed had the match won against the former World Heavyweight Champion, but all hell broke loose to ensure Uso picked up the win.
Sami Zayn intercepted Bron Breakker, while Penta and LA Knight also attacked Paul Heyman’s faction to help Uso set up a match with Cody Rhodes on the June 23 edition of WWE Raw.
An irate Seth Rollins came out to attack Uso after the bell, but Cody Rhodes came down to make the save.
There was, perhaps, too much interference in this one, but it was utterly breathtaking throughout and further proof the company are absolutely stacked with stars at the moment.
Asuka picks up win in her first WWE match for 13 months
On the Queen of the Ring side of the draw, Asuka made her return after over a year away from the ring.
She took on Raquel Rodriguez, Ivy Nile, and Stephanie Vaquer for a place in the semi-finals against Alexa Bliss.
There were some brilliant moments here between Vaquer and Asuka, teasing a certified WWE dream match between the pair further down the line.
Asuka picked up the win after Rhea Ripley took out Raquel Rodriguez with a Rip Tide, gaining revenge on the star for doing the same thing to the Aussie in last week’s Queen of the Ring bout.
Liv Morgan suffers shoulder dislocation against Kairi Sane
In the most bizarre moment of the night, Liv Morgan suffered a genuine injury moments into her singles match with Kairi Sane.
The two women locked up, before the Tag Team Champion writhed out of the ring in agony as doctors attended to her.
By all accounts, it’s a legitimate injury, but it’s one of the strangest ways a WWE star has suffered genuine pain in the history of the company.
According to PWInsider, the popular star could be on the sidelines for as long as 16 weeks after the freak injury.
AJ Styles and Bayley get Intercontinental Title matches
Both the women’s and men’s mid-card championships on Raw found new challengers as Dominik Mysterio and Becky Lynch were confirmed for Intercontinental Title matches.
After AJ Styles defeated the Judgement Day’s JD McDonagh, The Phenomenal One was confirmed for a match with Mysterio at Night of Champions.
Likewise, after Bayley’s return on last week’s Raw, she confronted Lynch and challenged the Irish star to a singles match for her strap. That one will take place on the June 23 edition of Raw.
General Manager Nick Aldis made both matches official before the end of the show.
