After Night of Champions, WWE hit the reset button as they turned their attention toward their double header of Saturday Night’s Main Event and Evolution on July 12 and 13.

Several matches were confirmed for both shows and several more were teased for a huge summer the company has in store.

CM Punk addressed his controversial loss to John Cena, while Rhea Ripley and Seth Rollins found out their next feuds.

Here are five things we learned from WWE Raw.

Rhea Ripley vs Iyo Sky is confirmed for Evolution

Ripley opened the show to celebrate her Street Fight victory over Raquel Rodriguez in Saudi Arabia, but she was quickly interrupted by Iyo Sky.

The Women’s World Heavyweight Champion said she was allowed to pick her opponent for Evolution and she wanted it to be Ripley.

It’s slightly underwhelming to see Ripley yet again locked into a championship feud, but there’s no doubt this is one of the biggest matches the all-women PLE could book.

The pair have crossed paths many times, most recently in a three-way match at WrestleMania 41 alongside Bianca Belair.

Lyra Valkyria vs Bayley fails to reach a conclusion

After Valkyria cost Bayley in her Intercontinental Championship match against Becky Lynch on the July 23 edition of WWE Raw, a match was confirmed between the pair with a shot at the champion on the line.

In predictable fashion, the match ended up with a non-conclusion after both women had their shoulders down during the pin.

The match was deemed a draw, and the feuding pair continued to brawl throughout the arena, seemingly confirming a triple-threat match alongside Lynch at Evolution.

Valkyria has been elevated during her feud with Lynch, and there’s every chance she becomes one of the top stars in the company after battling it out with two of the biggest stars in the division.

CM Punk attacks Seth Rollins and confronts Gunther

Punk was suitably fuming after being cost in his WWE Championship match with Cena by his old rival Rollins.

Rollins confronted Gunther in the middle of the ring, telling the Austrian that he hadn’t forgotten about the World Heavyweight Champion.

This brought out the Best in the World, who attacked Rollins and sent an intriguing message to Gunther too.

Punk pushed Gunther to the ground, which could be the start of a tantalising World Heavyweight Championship program between the pair.

Many fans are disenfranchised with Punk facing Rollins yet again at SummerSlam, so a match with Gunther could be the perfect antidote.

The two men have collided at house shows, but never in front of the WWE cameras. It’s arguably one of the biggest matches yet to happen in the company.

Jey Uso saves Sami Zayn from Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker

In an enthralling main event, Sami Zayn and Penta came up short against the monstrous team of Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed.

After the match, the two giants continued the beatdown on the two men, but they were stopped in their tracks by Jey Uso.

Uso received a huge pop as he evened the odds, and it appears he’s just as over with the live crowd despite losing the World Heavyweight Championship.

Rollins’ new faction has breathed some much-needed life into the main event scene, and it’s allowed the company’s top babyfaces to find some new ground on the show.

Is there a new El Grande Americano?

Chad Gable revealed he had to get shoulder surgery after being written off TV by a backstage altercation with Penta.

This, of course, would also seem to be the end of El Grande Americano, the luchador the American Made man has been playing for the last few months.

However, the luchador returned in a backstage segment and it looks like he’s now being portrayed by a returning star.

It looked a lot like Ludwig Kaiser was under the mask as the luchador appeared during an American Made interview segment.

While it’s not been confirmed, fans on social media are certain the German is the new man behind the mask.
