Seth Rollins was far from happy when CM Punk returned to WWE in 2023, but his prediction about the star was wrong.
The two men have been locked into a feud since the star’s return in 2023, with it most recently culminating with Rollins costing Punk the WWE title at SummerSlam.
The two men look set to battle over the World Heavyweight Championship for the rest of 2025 as they finally put their blood feud to bed.
Rollins stuck his neck on the line about Punk with a bold prediction, but he’s been proved wrong by the Best in the World.

Seth Rollins said CM Punk would not be World Champion again
Rollins was far from happy when Punk made a shock return to WWE at Survivor Series in 2023, almost a decade after he walked out on the company.
The two men have rarely seen eye-to-eye, despite Rollins and The Shield being brought in as Punk’s back-up upon their debut in 2012.
Rollins’ reaction during Punk’s Survivor Series return was reportedly legitimate, and the two began a feud that has run up to The Architect screwing the Best in the World at SummerSlam.
During Punk’s early days back in the company, Rollins states: “As long as I have breath in my lungs, CM Punk will not be World Champion in the WWE.”
Technically, Rollins failed in his prediction about Punk – but only just. Punk was champion for just over five minutes before The Architect returned to cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase.
Where will Seth Rollins vs CM Punk culminate?
Many fans are growing tired of Rollins and Punk’s feud, with the two men locking horns several times since 2023.
Some predicted Rollins would cash in on Cody Rhodes or John Cena, but that was not the case and we’re set for at least one more match between the two men.
Triple H tends to book his biggest matches at the ‘big four’, which means this could culminate at Survivor Series two years after Punk made his return.
If The Game were a braver booker, he’d let the two men resolve their differences in front of a red-hot French crowd at Clash in Paris, however.
