Seth Rollins and Paul Heyman both shared a major influence long before they formed a partnership in WWE.
The Architect is currently the leader of The Vision, a group formed with Paul Heyman, Bron Breakker, and Bronson Reed.
Rollins is helping train some of WWE’s rising stars, as well as leading the WWE Raw roster as the World Heavyweight Champion.
The pair may have only formed at WrestleMania 41, but Rollins and Heyman share a bond due to one of their biggest inspirations away from the WWE cameras.
Seth Rollins was inspired by Henry Rollins for his WWE name
Rollins was tasked with picking a WWE name when he signed with the company in 2010 and the star took inspirations from one of his favourite singers.
“Seth Rollins is a little bit of an ode to an idol of mine, Henry Rollins,” said Rollins in an interview with the Fayetteville Observer.
“He’s the leader of one of my favorite bands, Black Flag,” added The Architect. “Seth is just a name that I liked.”
Rollins debuted in WWE initially with Florida Championship Wrestling, before joining WWE NXT in its inception.
The star became the company’s inaugural NXT Champion, before debuting on the main roster as part of The Shield.
Rollins’ love of Henry Rollins is not something unique to the iconic WWE star, as Heyman has also called the Black Flag singer an influence.
Paul Heyman praised Henry Rollins back in 2008
Two years before Rollins was inspired by the Black Flag singer for his WWE name, Heyman named him as a major influence.
“I’m a great admirer of Henry Rollins,” revealed the WWE Hall of Famer revealed in an interview with Wrestling Figures.
“I think he’s one of the most underrated social commentators out there, and wish he had a bigger platform and wider audience to hear his provocative ramblings.”
Heyman and Rollins have been intrinsically linked through the Black Flag singer for years, and now they’ve finally formed a partnership on-screen.
Rollins aligned with Heyman at WrestleMania 41, when The Wiseman turned on CM Punk and Roman Reigns.
