Jake Paul has continued to maintain the attention of the boxing world by calling out heavyweights.

Anthony Joshua has been circulated as the dream opponent of the 28-year-old, with the YouTuber revealing the chilling message AJ sent him ahead of a potential 2026 encounter.

However, Paul still has ambitions in his more natural division of cruiserweight after bagging himself a #14 WBA ranking to set up a Gilberto Ramirez clash, which was widely criticised.

A win against former middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr added some credibility to the interesting resume of the 12-1 fighter.

Oscar De La Hoya believes Jake Paul becomes world champion within two years

Oscar De La Hoya, the multi-weight champion, has come out in defence of the novice boxer.

In an interview with Ring Champs, the ‘Golden Boy’ said: “I haven’t studied the rankings, but I am sure a lot of people criticised it, (is it too high?) I would’ve put him top 20.

“He just beat an ex-world champion. I would say what’s fair, top 20. He’s Sinatra right now, he’s doing it his way.”

De La Hoya highlighted champion Badou Jack and his own fighter Zurdo Ramirez as potential opponents for a world title fight.

The 52-year-old not only heaped praise on the former YouTuber’s career but also made the bold claim on a world title win.

“What I like about him is that he is very calculated with his career; he is very serious, this is life or death for him, his career is on the line,” he said.

“I’m going to call it right here, right now. I think Jake Paul will become a world champion within two years.”

Jake Paul certain Anthony Joshua super-fight happens in Wembley Stadium

His unshakeable confidence and belief are what makes ‘El Gallo’ a hot ticket in the boxing world.

On the broadcast for Usyk vs Dubois 2, he made it very clear the Joshua fight will happen no matter what.

Paul said: “This is where it’s going to happen (Wembley Stadium). We are trying to do the unthinkable and create one of the biggest fights in the history of boxing.

“It’s not about if it’s realistic or not—it’s going to happen. When I knock him out, I’ll go down in the history books.”

The fight, however controversial it is, would be one of the biggest events of the year, but the damage it could do to the Watford fighter’s reputation could be irreparable.
