Carl Froch has now given his response to Darren Till, who scored a devastating knockout over Luke Rockhold at Misfits Boxing 22.

‘The Cobra’ was ringside for the latest Misfits crossover boxing card, which was headlined by two former UFC stars, Till and Rockhold, battling it out.

Their fight ended in the third round when ‘The Gorilla’ backed the American into the ropes, unloading a solid combination which ended with a swift southpaw left on the chin to flatten out the former MMA champion.

After celebrating his victory, the scouse fighter took the microphone and called Froch a ‘s- – -house’ as he tried to coax him to face off with him.

Nottingham’s own has not fought since his eighth-round knockout of George Groves in Wembley Stadium in 2014, but has had no shortage of crossover stars attempting to tempt him back into the ring.

The 48-year-old has had his fair share of verbal exchanges with Jake Paul, who had once called him out for a bout; however, the ex-super middleweight champion has resisted any offers.

Following the conclusion of the contest, Froch took to his YouTube channel to officially respond to the callout from the newest crossover boxing headliner.

He said: “Do I want it to happen? Realistically, probably not. Listen, I retired 11 years ago. And when I retired, when I was almost 37.

“I was offered a lot of money to fight (Julio Cesar) Chavez Jr. I was offered money to fight Gennady Golovkin. The desire was gone, and when the desire is gone, you’re not going to jump in a boxing ring because it’s the hurt game. You can get seriously injured.”

The 2023 Boxing Hall of Famer has been very critical of influencers taking part in boxing, even if he did praise Paul for ‘playing’ Eddie Hearn, and labelled the Ohio novice a ‘clown’.

He ended his verbal tirade against the Liverpuddlian by commenting on his ability and questioning whether the fight would even be competitive.

“Why would I bother? Well, easy money. I’m thinking to myself, hang on a minute. They’re giving money away here with these fights because Darren Till’s absolutely f- – -ing useless. I’m not being funny here. I’m talking about professional boxing level,” Carl said.

“At the level he’s at, he’s done all right. He’s got decent balance, throws a decent backhand from the southpaw stance, but let’s be honest, this will be a mismatch. Even at 48 years old, retired 11 years, it’s a mismatch.”

Promoter Kalle Saureland believes Darren Till vs Carl Froch can be made

It seems he is not looking to come back anytime soon but, as seen by ex-pros such as Mike Tyson, a return could be on the cards for a hefty sum.

The Wasserman Boxing promoter, Kalle Saureland, who is involved in the Misfits brand, was asked by IFL TV whether he could see a Till vs Froch fight coming to fruition.

Saureland responded: “I do think Carl fancies it. We mustn’t forget the level of Carl Froch, what Carl Froch has done in the sport. He’s not been that long out in the game.

“(on Till’s claim Froch needs a year) A year is a year. I’m sure that can be made.”

Till seems to want to continue in the crossover world despite his prior ambitions to use it as a stepping stone back to the UFC, as he now finds himself 3-0 in the organisation.
