Darren Till doubled down on his Carl Froch callout in his dressing room following his brutal knockout win over Luke Rockhold.

‘The Gorilla’ scored a highlight-reel knockout of the former UFC champion Rockhold in the third round of their crossover boxing match at Misfits 22 in Manchester on Saturday, where he called out the former boxing champion.

Froch responded to Till’s callout on his channel following the contest’s conclusion, but the former super middleweight champion did not fully commit to ending his 11-year retirement from the ring.

Since his exit from the sport, the Nottingham fighter has had callouts from the influencer world, with Jake Paul attempting to add another former world champion alongside his wins over Mike Tyson and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.

Darren Till doubles down on Carl Froch comments and reveals ringside conversation after brutal knockout

Now it is the former MMA star Till who wants a piece of the action to prove a point against ‘The Cobra’, whose past comments he has taken umbrage with.

The Misfit fighter was interviewed in the dressing room following his victory and was questioned about why he decided to call out Froch after landing the knockout blow.

Speaking to The Stomping Ground, he said: “Basically, Carl’s been giving it the big one… So I went over to him, and he was trying to say well done and I was just like ‘What do you mean well done?’

“We’re fighting, mate, just giving it all this respect, and he just scurried on out of there.”

The 32-year-old has been successful in his new venture as a crossover boxer, scoring his third win and second finish on Saturday night.

But he is not delusional about his boxing ability compared to that of the Hall of Famer.

“I am not a better boxer than Carl Froch. I just want to make that clear,” he said.

“But I know I can beat Carl Froch. I know from my MMA background with some faints thrown in and stuff like that, I can beat him.

“I’m not trying to sit here and say I’m a better boxer. But why would he not get in that ring with me?”

Darren Till is now a free agent and made an interesting claim after a brutal Misfits knockout win

The ex-welterweight title contender is enjoying life as a professional on the crossover circuit, but after his latest win, he may already be looking elsewhere.

Before taking on this new aspect of combat sports full-time, he was going to use it as an opportunity to regain confidence before transitioning back to MMA.

However, in this latest interview, he revealed he is now a free agent and was asked if he saw a potential to turn professional.

He said: “Well, that’s what I think is going to have to happen right now.”

On interest from other promoters, he did make an interesting claim.

“Mams Taylor needs to get on the blower quick because I’ve got two of them, but I’m not just messaging myself.”

While there may be some interest from further afield, the Scouser may use his free agency status to bargain for more money after his lucrative start as a crossover boxer.
