A former UFC legend has provided an honest prediction on Jake Paul vs Gervonta Davis after his in-ring experience with the influencer.

The ‘Tank’ Davis exhibition fight has been the centre of criticism from boxers who believe the fight with Paul is ‘farcical’ due to the weight disparity and skill level.

Netflix is staging this exhibition fight on 14 November, with ‘The Problem Child’ continuing his lucrative deal with the organisation following the success of the controversial Mike Tyson fight.

While it seemed after his win against Julio Cesar Chavez Jr that he would be eyeing a clash with 48-1 champion Gilberto Ramirez, the influencer has instead opted for the current WBA lightweight title holder.

It is refreshing to see the former YouTuber take on the challenge of facing professional boxers, compared to taking on UFC debutants, but he is still careful about whom he fights and their age.

He has enjoyed significant successes against former MMA stars, securing six wins over mixed martial artists in his 13-fight career.

One star ‘El Gallo’ defeated was Nate Diaz. The popular UFC fighter was dropped in the fifth round of their 2023 bout before losing a wide unanimous decision.

During a media scrum at the latest Dirty Boxing event, Diaz was asked for his thoughts on his former rival’s exhibition contest with the Baltimore fighter.

He said: “Gervonta is a great boxer, but he’s not going to do s- – – against Jake Paul.

“No, I don’t have a favorite. Anything can happen. Davis is a tremendous fighter, but he’s going to have to put in extra effort to try to beat Paul.”

‘The Stockton Slugger’ believes that it is a ‘great’ fight, and he is excited to see what transpires in this very intriguing matchup.

However, he is struggling to find an opponent in any combat sport following his majority decision victory over Jorge Masvidal in 2024.

He was asked during the media scrum when fans could expect to see him back in the ring or the cage.

Diaz exclaimed: “Nobody is free… There is nobody to fight.

“I want to fight three times a year, but everyone is f- – -ing locked down. It’s just a matter of time. I’m trying to fight as soon as possible, and that’s what’s happening.”

But he did express that he would love a return to the Octagon and believes ‘100%’ he will feature on the proposed UFC White House card in 2026.
