Tyson Fury’s rumoured return is still keeping the boxing world patiently waiting to see how it unfolds, including a former world champion.
One week ago, Fury made headlines telling the media he was going to make a return and seemingly confirmed an Oleksandr Usyk trilogy was on the cards.
He also sent a callout to Daniel Dubois ahead of his rematch with Usyk, but his former trainer, Shane McGuigan, believes Dubois could beat Tyson.

Whilst many around him seem to believe his step out of retirement, it has left some fans questioning the U-turn on social media.
Former middleweight champion Andy Lee reveals Tyson Fury’s manager confirmed his return
His cornerman, Andy Lee, was one of those who were unsure whether the former WBC titlist was serious about his plan.
The former middleweight champion revealed a phone call with Fury’s manager Spencer Brown in an interview.
He said: “I just had one conversation on the phone with Spencer and I said ‘is this real?’ and he said ‘yeah, it’s real’.
“So whether it is or not, you just never know with this man. It’s very hard for anybody to stay away from the game, and whether he was really retired or not remains to be seen.
“But he still has so much to offer this sport, a little break from the sport will do him no harm.”
Lee has been the assistant trainer of the 36-year-old alongside Sugar Hill Steward since parting ways with Ben Davison.
Lee has always doubted Fury’s retirement announcement
The Irish fighter has been sceptical over his initial January announcement after his rematch with the decorated Ukrainian.
Interviewed during the Paddy Donovan vs Lewis Crocker launch press conference, he said: “If it is genuine, he is retired, I wish him well.
“If he’s coming back, he’s coming back, you know, who knows? He has retired a couple of times already, hasn’t he. He’s just a character… I don’t know.”
Limerick’s own called time on his career in 2018 and now trains a crop of fighters himself in Ireland.
Last night, his newest recruit, Hamzah Sheeraz, knocked out Edgar Berlanga in the fifth round in his first fight at super middleweight.
While finding success as a head trainer, it is possible we could see him take up a spot in the Morecambe boxer’s corner one more time in 2026.
