Lennox Lewis may currently be the only British man to become undisputed champion, but Daniel Dubois believes he can do it against Oleksandr Usyk.
‘Dynamite’ Dubois is coming up against Usyk for the second time following the best run of his career with three back-to-back stoppages, including the sickening Anthony Joshua KO.
While the boxing world may be against him, including professionals like Canelo Alvarez betting $500k against him, it has not fazed the Brit.
In the days before fight night, he has screamed in the Ukrainian’s face and attempted to rattle him before their Wembley showdown.

Now his confidence may go even higher as Lewis has backed Dubois to do what the likes of Tyson Fury were unable to do.
Speaking in an interview, he explained: “I’m thinking he’s ready (Daniel Dubois). He’s the king slayer. He’s got the power.
“He’s been there before. He was just there, he knocked (Oleksandr Usyk) down, so he knows what he needs to do.”
Of all the boxing royalty to predict a win, a fellow countryman who is regarded as the greatest Britain has produced is quite the backer.
Asked how it would feel for the 28-year-old to join him as the other domestic name to hold the undisputed crown, he said: “It would be great for him to do it, another man for Great Britain. He’s going to do it.”
‘The Lion’ became undisputed champion in 1999, defeating Evander Holyfield in their rematch to unify the belts.

A Hall of Fame great with a heavyweight resume to rival has also found himself in a stadium clash before with a domestic favourite whom he handily beat.
Frank Bruno clashed with Lewis in what was known as the ‘Battle of Britain’ at the National Stadium in Cardiff, but fell to his counterpart in the seventh.
After a back-and-forth war, it was the slick skills of the younger fighter that pinned the Wandsworth fighter to the ropes and clubbed him with right hands until the referee waved it off.
The pair are much more amicable these days, but during their build-up some unsavoury insults were dealt between both men.
Lewis said: “It was pretty toxic between me and Frank. I got under his skin.”
This fight emulated some of what we saw in the Joshua vs Dubois fight, aside from the insults, as two of Britain’s stars clashed in a fight which ended in crushing fashion for the older heavyweight.
With experience fighting in the national stadium under his belt, the young IBF champion will have to push himself to undo the mastery of Usyk.
