Tyson Fury may want to improve this element of his game if he returns from retirement.
The ‘Gypsy King’ last competed in the squared circle in December where he lost to Oleksandr Usyk a second time by unanimous decision.
This defeat led to his retirement from the sport until Fury made a U-turn, to fans’ dismay, when he called out the Ukrainian for a trilogy bout next year.

But the undisputed champion hasn’t accepted this offer since he brutally knocked out Daniel Dubois in the fifth round of their Wembley rematch.
Tyson Fury ranks last in total punches connected, with an 18-1 heavyweight topping the list
In a list released shortly after ‘The Cat’s’ win over Dubois, CompuBox revealed where six heavyweight names rank in different statistical categories.
One such statistic revealed the overall connect percentage of each man on the list and Morecambe’s former world champion was last with a 28.2% connection rate.
Although you would expect Usyk to be top, it is actually the Croatian heavyweight Filip Hrgovic who reigns supreme in this area.
| Heavyweight | Total connect percentage (as of July 21st) |
| Filip Hrgovic | 35.5% |
| Daniel Dubois | 31.4% |
| Anthony Joshua | 30.9% |
| Oleksandr Usyk | 30.7% |
| Joseph Parker | 28.6% |
| Tyson Fury | 28.2% |
His last fight against Joe Joyce may have contributed fairly well to his tally as the British man lacked the defensive nous to avoid the shots of his old amateur rival.
Anthony Joshua (30.9%) ranks third on this list, slightly above Oleksandr ‘The Great’ (30.7%), the man who beat him twice.
You could argue Hrgovic has had an easy ride to get to this figure considering he has only fought one of the heavyweights on this list.
Filip Hrgovic’s next opponent sends warning ahead of clash, ‘I can knock out a horse…’
While he suffered a stoppage loss to ‘Dynamite’, ‘El Animal’ now has a chance to propel himself to a title opportunity on August 16th when he faces off against David Adeleye.
Adeleye fell short against Fabio Wardley in their British title bout in 2023 but is taking his second Saudi Arabia opportunity in his stride.
In an interview with The Ring, he warned the 33-year-old about his power, he said: “I could knock out a horse I’m telling you.
“This power is no joke, it is not a gimmick, I don’t go there relying on it, I’ve got it in my arsenal.”
It is an interesting clash on a card topped by the 20-year-old heavyweight sensation Moses Itauma against Dillian Whyte.
