The Silverstone Grand Prix is next up on the Formula One calendar, as Lewis Hamilton is among four British drivers who will race at their home grand prix.

Hamilton, one of the all-time greats in F1, boasts a comprehensive resume of records in the sport. He has won the most races in history with 105, has taken the most pole positions with 104, and is tied for the most championships with Ferrari legend Michael Schumacher with seven.

Statistically, Hamilton is the greatest driver in F1 history, and he has had storied success at the legendary Silverstone circuit since his arrival in the sport in 2007. Here are three incredible records Hamilton has broken at the British Grand Prix.

Most wins at a single circuit

Hamilton’s win at Silverstone in 2024 was his ninth at his home circuit, breaking Schumacher’s record.

He became the man with the most wins at a single circuit in Formula One. Schumacher’s previous tally was eight at the French Grand Prix, which Hamilton tied with at both Silverstone and Hungary prior to this victory.

He has nine wins from 19 races at the track, the first in 2008 in the wet on the way to his first driver’s title.

Hamilton also has six wins at the Chinese and Spanish Grand Prix.

Longest time between first and last wins

Hamilton’s win at Silverstone in 2024 came 17 years after his first-ever win, another record in Formula One. He also became the first driver to win a Formula One race after competing in more than 300 Grand Prix.

Hamilton’s first win was in Canada in 2007 with McLaren, only six races into his career.

He then fended off his former team at the British Grand Prix nearly two decades later for a historic victory in front of his home crowd.

Hamilton’s incredible longevity makes this record seem unbreakable, unless the likes of Fernando Alonso snatch it from him with a win for Aston Martin.

Most Consecutive Podiums at Silverstone

Hamilton has an incredible streak of 12 consecutive podium finishes at the British Grand Prix. The streak encompasses every race at Silverstone since 2014 – the entire hybrid era.

In his 19 races at the circuit, he has stood on the podium on 15 occasions (another record which seems impossible to beat).
